  1. Have you tried your nearest branch of Realtree..... Higgins.
  2. JTB,sorry your mate lost his dog,i thought you were already using B&F equipment, there's no way i would use Deben for a terrier anymore, maybe for ferrets, and i will be be buying one soon, look forward to getting out on a dig soon pal,by the way you have a pm on smoochers. Bryan, the long range deben is not worth having,as above spend that bit more for the right equipment as they are better for searching longer ranges horizontally and vertically,if they use these things to find people they have to be reliable and very accurate, Higgins
  3. Lord B it sounds like the owner of Alladale Estate is on to a money making making scheme either way depending on his final intentions, which he will no doubt keep to himself,it's obviously disguised as an eco repopulation/natural predator control experiment, smacks of someone playing god with financial undertones etc; What would be interesting though is if he succeeds in introducing all these species here(highly unlikeley)is the interest from poachers not ramblers,in this country there are people who would take the chance of bagging a few wolves/bears/elk whatever as it would give them a rep

  9. Have you tried using a heat mat,the sort that is used for reptile aquariums?I am considering kitting my kennels with these as i believe they are safe and probably lower running costs if you choose the lowest wattage that gives sufficient heat. They are waterproof and all you need to do is put some bedding over it, secure the wire where the dog can't reach it,it can be wiped clean after a change of bedding! Another type of heater is the tubular electric type, could be the 'bar heater'refered to in an earlier post, these are very good but they can get hot to the touch so must be out of reach or

  13. your not going to believe this but after writing the last post i only went and dropped my mobile in the toilet ,because there was no bulb in the room i used the light from my mobile while having a gypsy lee and the thing slipped out of my hand!It was still lit up and submerged,so quick as a flash i plunged my hand in there and retreived it,dried it out with an old towel, took battery out and dried inside, left it for an hour on the rad, when i put it back together it worked fine! Higgins.

  19. careful Ditch,we wouldn't like to see a revival in wildboar eating, the prices would rocket and everyone would be out hunting 'ye olde wilboare',best keep good things to yeselfe,i fancy Pork this xmas, just to offend the mussies that don't like teddy bears called Mohahmed, since we can't have anythying christian these days i've decided to christen everything the mussies are offended by, eating in the name of Mohahmed....otherwise i may as well do everything in the name of Allah....but i can always get a nurse to turn my bed to my nativity scene five times a day,....... 20. it's usually the first thing to start a terrier on before bigger game and it looks like your terrier is keen to work, just give the dog more greys or rats from now on and he should improve and gain confidence, good hunting, Higgins.

  23. Matulhoh is right about the rechargeable batteries, some of the transciever manufacturers do not reccomend these rechargeable batteries as their life is reduced after so many charges, they only reccomend alkaline batteries for better performance.
