My eye's are sound and i am sure we have all made little mistake's once in a while...i once slipped a dog on a bike peddle reflector.. ..they was long grass blowing in front of it and it was the double of a fox blinking.. ..after the dog stopped when he got near it i thought he had bottled it and realised what it was when i got about 15ft away from it..

Millet I slipped the old dog on what looked like the arse end of a bunnie..i soon realised what it was when i heard the crack and the dog screaming..the poor fooker had knocked nearly all his teeth out..the fang's that where remaining where pointing out like a wart hog which where held on with a piece's off gum which i had to pull out by hand.. ...luckely he did not break his jaw and carried on for a couple of more season's before dieing about 3yrs ago at 8yr old from menangitis..R.I.P..Sambo.

Just read up on some stuff Will.. ..in my favourite's and i may have found what i was looking for..basicly you are supposed to put the battery in the wrong way around for a short time.. ..i have done that and the battery that is giving a low alarm after 12 beep's has stopped..even a battery below the 3v mark is still going strong..if you dont know what i mean a fresh battery should give you around 3.34v ..i now have a battery in the tranny at 2.95v so i may have solved the problem as it is not giving the double bleep anymore.

The wind is a ball ache mate especialy with a bird flown fron the glove..they go into kite mode then sit flat after doing your head in bating about.. ..had similar shite today an he was only 1/2 oz higher than your bird..fist call's where slow to start with then he went back to normal..just a damn shame i could not find any partridge for him..taking the dog tomorrow so i might get a few slip's..if the forcasted gales dont come.. I want a harris now.. espesially when you can just throw them in a tree and walk of..no matter what the wind is like..

I dont own one but what i have seen of a .243 make's it a allrounder and more than capable of hitting target's at stupid distance's whatever it may be..a rabbit upto a deer would not be safe if the shooter is on the ball..as for speed and ricochet..can't you opt for a smaller fast balistic tip round.that flies to pieces what ever it hit's.

i need to get down there with gengoid and show you lot how to get a good flight on a turnip.. as he is a veggie for now.. but if the fooking gales stay's away i will get a level of fitness on him and be able to come down and meet you all and show you how a gos should not behave.. .. Good stuff jasp.. ..for getting these lad's out on probably the best land i have seen.. Cheer's Millet

Ive had one as a back up leg mount for several year's now.. but it keep's giving the double beep low battery alarm after only a couple of trip's out..when i test the battery it still has plenty of life in it.. What im wanting to know is how do i alter the alarm beep so it come's on when the battery is actually only got a few day's left in it...i have read how to do it somewhere before but i can't for the life of me remember where.

Had a good dog that broke his hock in load's of place's..a bit like a explosion of the joint..he was 9mth old ..after a lot of lead walking he was good to go after 4mth on bunnies.. When he hit 13 mth he seen his first fox..got bit and furiously tried to get back through the big hedge but coul not get through resulting in a missed fox...after that he would not run the ..but he clicked when he hit the 2yr old mark and boy he done them...not all but most.. This same dog bagged 51 bunnies on a good night with woodga which can be surely vouched for.. Anyway R.I.P Sambo..

Brilliant stuff.. ..i wondered how you where doing with the hawk and by the sound of thing's you are moving forward smoothley.. ..i know what you mean about the weather mate..it has totally well and truely fooked my season upto now..if it's not the gale force wind it is pissing down.. ..anyway just keep plugging away and good look with your Dad.

It does sound like a stupid question.. ..unless you can get a little head lamp for the hawk how will it see where it is going.

I did it once but i quickly found out that a feamale harris is a bit big for that.. ..even if it was a big stair case it's not the same as getting a bird fit from daily hunting..in my eye's they is no substitute to getting a hawk fit from hunting.

It's illegal to feed live food to captive snake's and they is no benifit from doing so and i see it as pointless suffering...yes in the wild they do have to kill to survive..snake's in captivity dont and if reared propperly they can be brought up on frozen food that has been humanly killed..i used to breed live food for my snake's but i would knock them on the head before feeding.

Just to add to my last post..i bought a hawk book several year's ago via Amazon..it was packed good but when i was opening it i dropped it on the work top and marked the cover..

I have just read through the last page of this thread and hyjacked it is..and that is without reading the rest of it.. .. The best thing about it is.. this silly thread should of not started in the first place..it should of been kept to PM's.. ..bin it mod's or Admin if i was a mod it would of long gone.. Google white springtail's ive had them in the tank's load's of times and they cause no harm what so ever..

Them laserlite's are spot on for bunnie's and if you pooch has good eye sight you can chase stuff further afield...they only have a 50watt bulb so you can get quite a bit of use out of a single battery they also have a smaller work light which is handy for gutting and getting over fence's...you can also buy a seperate cowl for the front to attatch different coloured filter's which are easy to use one handed if you put it on upside down.. The only thing i did not like about the laserlite's is they keep burning the switch out..

A friend of my was doing some building work next door to a paki shop..he got nothing but abuse from them..he was called a white b*****d and they where even throwning bag's of human shit over a wall where he was working..after a week of abuse he snapped and said will you f.u.ck of you black b.a.s.t.a.r.d..the paki recorded the argument on his mobile phone and phoned the police..my mate had to go to court over it he only got cautioned..but fook all happened to the paki..
