  1. I've never used a magpie for ferreting does it bolt many or do you have to dig alot ????????
  2. and one you can sit on for a brew
  3. Depends on the hob and how frisky he feels at the time ,
  4. I know where you're coming from with breaking Terriers to Ferrets, they're a nightmare. My young Bull X however is coming along great with the ferret. I used to let the Ferret run around the garden whilst I kept the Bull X on the lead, I held the Ferret and let the dog sniff it, and now I'm at the point where I am able to leave the dog off the lead with both running around the garden. Sometimes I see him looking at the Ferret with a look of "I wonder what that tastes like" look in his eyes, but I tell him and he walks away. I'd never trust him on his own with it, but so far so good .
  5. Has anybody seen him about on here I pm him a few weeks ago but had no reply ????????

  14. Amazing what you can do with some scrap wood a couple of out of season ferreters and a crate of Stella " lol nice job
  15. They are nice mate Cheers rabbiting man lets hope they do the job the jill on the left has come from good guy on here no doubt she will looks very promising so far easily figures things out quicker than the polecat hob but i find jills always do Fine looking jill kit you have yourself there good luck with them
  16. Garden wire rap it round couple of times the tie it off where you want or to what you want
  17. Thems the shortest legs I've ever seen on a lurcher lol
  18. Think it's just a body type mate, although i guess that feeding in those cases must have an effect. Thing is, although lean, i think of the greyhound types as strong and muscular. I have an albino, greyhound type jill here, but her sister (poley) is much stockier, although weighs less over all. I put the albino to a hob of mine who is similar boy type, lean etc, although also a big lad. I am keeping kits from the litter and it will be interesting to see what size/shape they turn out. Yes be very interesting , you got any pics of the hob and jill ???????
  19. 5 is a good number I had 3 ? But 5 is good would be nice if that was the norm every time

  21. do you only us 1st gear in your car , time to take to the next gear 2nd witch is the eu polecat ,keep your albeano lol thats bad breeding if a dog had albeano pup every time she had pup what would you do yeah your right you be getting the 12 bore out lol.and yes ferrets have been around for 100 s of years and there was NO ALBEANO ALBEANOS ARE FROM DAD BREEDING who mentiond albino? just because a ferret may be albino dosnt mean it cant and wont work colour makes no difference. i just dont see why the need to cross a wild polecat to a good working strain of ferret(whatever the colour
  22. ah good morning mr rake glad to see your sober u loon , at the end of the day mate let them crack on , there's enough blokes on here carrying on with good stock and striving to keep that going , if the time ever comes amongst those few we will have enough qaulity stock to save the working ferret, and I mean working ferrets not a ferret that's seen a few burrys and by chance bolted a rabbit , we may be driven underground by the influx of people who won't listen or learn but so Beit , some of the folk don't know what a working ferret is about or what a top working ferret should be about,
  23. My mate brought one round that he'd been trying to use in the house, I don't know much about the internal workings but I know that is a no no from experience it was making some awful noises , after about half an hour in the garden messing about puting the locator right on the collar moving slowly away moving closer going from search to locate locate to search it lost the interferance and eventually was picking up acurate readings , but I've found turning them on in the house ain't good and they seem to store the interferance , even a plain old wire fence can send them off when out ferreting ,
