Well done that man, yes its the mk2 lynx, with the new proper two stage trigger, and I have to say up to know, I am very impressed, not got the calibre yet though

As you lot will know, I am a huge springer fan, but as I have been asked to remove some squirrels from a "sensitive" area, where a springer is going to draw attention, I thought it was time to add a pcp to my collection, it is regulated, has inbuilt silencer, single, and multi shot magazine, and a huge 4oocc bottle, had it out tonight, and it made its first kill on a woody @ around 25 yards with a nice clean head shot, so for a bit of fun, what is it, and of course what calibre?

Shooting My First Reloads...223
charlie caller replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Are you crimping the case? If you are, try crimping a little tighter, if not then do so, as said your neck tension is weak if you are pushing the bullet into the case, your rounds will never shoot well without uniform neck tension, hence why crimping is good. -
You stick to the scrotter boy, no big bike for you my lad

Same Old Question? (Maybe)
charlie caller replied to kimgary's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Thats the best thing to do with an hmr, bypass it -
Have you shot a rat with your at 20 yards?! Ha. Mess. You should see what a .22 hornet doing 800+ ftlbs does the word atomized springs to mind
-
Bit late now dude, bird will be moulting and growing some new ones soon.

Horses for courses mate, I use both, plus fullbore rifle, and rimfire, they all have their place, air rifles are great, but would be no use on a driven pheasant shoot, or duck shooting on the Ouse washes, but conversely a shotgun is no good for shooting close to the farm, when there are young lasses riding round the arena on ponies.

I had a Gamo Maxima in .177, the wood was nice, and to be fair the build quality was not bad, it was less twangy and more accurate after I gave it a proper lube, what really let it down was the dreadful trigger, I was going to install a Charlie da-tuner trigger in it which improves them beyond belief, but I got an offer for it and sold it, I do think if I had gone to town tuning it, it would have ended up a decent rifle, but why bother, when you can buy an HW ......... and just go and shoot it.

Congrats made, looks a grand little fella, I wish you many happy hunting times with him in a few years
-
Nope, just dont see the need for one at present, the .243 does all I need of it at the moment, but looking forward to trying yours mate, then no doubt I will be hankering after one
-
Buy the v-mach tuned hw35 that is for sale in the ads section, 100 times better rifle, and well within your budget, if it has gone, I would advise you to save up a little, and buy a HW whatever, unless you are going to spend a lot of time and money on the Gamo you will at best have a rather twangy, gritty, rifle with a very poor trigger.

Hydro, dont get me wrong here, I totally understand where you are coming from, with regard to deer welfare, and yes having access to a dog trained to follow a deer trail is a good idea, speaking personally, although I suspect others will be thinking along similar lines, it is the arrogance with which you started your intro, that has got peoples backs up, I have heard the same thing from wildfowlers over the years, "oh if you dont have a dog you should not be fowling" boll*cks, it is BETTER to have a dog, but the simple fact of the matter is that some people do not have a dog, or want a dog, or

New Little Springer

What calibre is it mate? -
So applying that logic, are you saying we should all have animal specific dogs? Or are you suggesting that deer are far more important than any other mammal we may hunt/shoot, calling people arseholes because they dont have a dog for deer, is just typical modern day arrogant BDS bullsh*t, sorry mate but get your head out from your arse.

No steel shot in anything over half choke, and no high performance steel if it does not bear the fleur-de-leys stamp,to be honest the ordinary steel stuff is crap and not worth bothering with, stick to tungsten, or heavy shot.

Might be wrong but I think he got banned mate.

Haha already got two,so I am fully equipped on that point I rather like a spot of trout fishing, so do I need a trout dog as well? And what breed would be best.
-
Perhaps we should all be busying ourselves training dogs then, I will need a deer dog, rabbit dog, fox dog, squirrel dog, occasional rat dog, not to mention a gun dog, wow, going to be busy busy busy, or is it only a deer dog I need because they are far more important than any other mammals?

Cheap 4x4 for someone that mate, good luck with the sale.

Here We Go...
charlie caller replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Crimp mate, the idea of crimping is to ensure uniform starting pressure on every round, do not start playing around with seating depth, just set it to the depth given in your load data, in my experience, so many people get hot under the collar about trying to seat the bullet 10.000" off the lands, when in reality, many many rifles actually prefer a jump to the lands, and if you crimp, seating depth becomes even less important. -
Same Old Question? (Maybe)
charlie caller replied to kimgary's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Yes forget the hmr, get a hornet, if you reload its cheaper and you can take foxes and long range bunnies @ 200 yards. -
Get one mate you will regret it if you dont, and just to wet your appetite here is mine.

Flying Your Country's Flag Makes You A Simpleton And Casual Racist...
charlie caller replied to neems's topic in General Talk
Could you explain what a Pakistan flagbin is please? In English preferably, unless it is the bin where all Pakistani flags should go, then thats fine.
