  1. Very special mate, obviously scary but I am kind of jealous, the wild hunt legend Herne/Woden
  2. Well if it is anything like Nikon scopes, it will be brilliant, I rate Nikon scopes very highly indeed, so much so I have one on my stalking rifle. they are the best value for money scopes on the market imho, and the next time I buy a scope for a foxing/stalking rifle, it will say Nikon on it
  3. Very good mate, I used to use a stuffed owl from the curiosity/junk shop, worked a treat, then became rather threadbare, and my mate shot it with the 12 bore what was that your mate was using, it was rather loud, and seemed to emit a lot of vapour/smoke on report ?
  4. just one thing old boy, you would need a deer calibre suitable for the hill so you would probably have to borrow mine, which of course would be far too heavy for your little frame, anyway how are you little man, havent seen you for ages?
  5. Well I am about to find out as I have just bought the 6.5 so we shall see, and I will add my two penneth in due course
  6. Welcome, at least you are not asking to be GIVEN permission, as some idiots do, my advice, keep at it mate, you will get some eventually, good luck.
  7. One word mate, NIKON, I use a Prostaff 3-9x50 with bdc reticule on my .243 it is amazingly clear, the bdc reticule is brilliant, it does all I want for lamping and stalking, and if you go on here http://spoton.nikonsportoptics.com/spoton/spoton.html#Index:20 you can put your details in, and it will give you your aim points for the reticule, and so far it has proven to be brilliant, absolutely spot on (excuse the pun) for my loads, you simply cannot go wrong with a Nikon mate.
  8. Its ok we know each other, I would not dream of taking the little mans money, dont like to see grown men cry
  9. Which model, 4.6x42 digital? Pm sent.
  10. what you been smoking Charlie boy, pes is a heavy as a tank Oh yes sorry forgot your only small and weedy i'll have a fiver that I win an arm wrestle old man You are on my lovely, unless you meant against my four year old, care to make it five grand?
  11. Ok Tremo so to turn it on its head a bit, with a decent ir torch on board, what would you say a realistic range for the 4.6 be then, 150 yards maybe? These are my thoughts, get the 6.5 and live with a little less field of view on rats and close range bunnies,(airgun and rf) and maybe add the doubler etc at a later date, I just dont want to get the 6.5 and find out its unsuitable for shorter ranges, but on the other side of the coin, I dont want to get the 4.6 and have to buy another to put on a cf
  12. Cool, cheers Ian, look forward to it mate.
  13. Strong weed in Somerset, especially when combined with a gallon of scrumpy in the sunshine
  14. Have you considered that it may be because the meat was not Halal innit
  15. Looks good on that vid Ian, so can we state with any certainty now the 6.5 has been field tested so to speak, would the 6.5 be ok without a doubler( obviously) on an air rifle.22 rf for closer range, like ratting, or rabbits out to say 75 yards, or would the 4.6 still be a better choice? If I like the unit, I would consider getting two, one for air rifle and .22 use, and maybe one for .222 or .17rem as a dedicated fox night vision set up, but I would initially like one for closer range work, cheers.
  16. what you been smoking Charlie boy, pes is a heavy as a tank Oh yes sorry forgot your only small and weedy
  17. Best advice you will hear tonight, get some decent pellets, pointed are shi*e,
  18. Maybe somebody removed the womans hair curler and a bit of foam from inside?
  19. Fair enough mate, point taken, but all section one ammo has to be locked away separate to your firearms, and nobody in your family who has no fac can even have knowledge of where the keys are stored, your choice I guess, but it would not concern me providing security is up to scratch.
  20. Welcome sir, do you shoot as well ?
  21. Account for ammo? Please elaborate, the only accounting I do is having the amount I buy written on my ticket, and that is loaded rounds, I reload centerfire, and dont have the bullets noted on my ticket, so no hassle mate thats it, simple's
  22. Absolutely spot on Timmy, a freshly placed pop up hide will serve to do one thing, it will ensure every crow in the area avoids it like the plague, if you are not concerned it will get nicked then by all means leave it out for a few days first, but if you can build a natural hide, it will work straight away, a dead rabbit with the guts pulled out is always a good way of attracting Corvid attention, years ago I used to use a stuffed owl that we got in a junk shop, it worked brilliantly until it became so tatty my mate shot it with his 12 bore if you do get an owl decoy, get the one with the wi
