    SEASONAL FOOD

In the 50s it was really cheap but now days it goes straight to Japan , there are not many Fishmongers about now days so it can be hard to find but if you do it is worth a try. Ox tail is another food that was very cheap my Grand parents had it on the range day and night through the winter months and basin full of it was a good start to the day.

  12. It is not unusual to catch them going in nowhere near as common , exiting the hole it is normal to get a Neck strike, entering the hole you will get a high chest strike , both are fatal in seconds .........IMBRA and JUBY Traps are both Rabbit traps but you can pick a lot of rats up but when a Rat enters from the front it will often be thrown through the trap and be caught by the tail which it will promptly bite off
  13. Set a couple of traps this morning , they were all in well used holes and i think they should all catch but will one night be long enough ???? chucked a couple of wires onto a run through a gateway which as been a friend in the past , the season is over around here but it has never really started , got a trip down to Norfolk lined up but i am not expecting much from that ,roll on next season , the last one was a stinker.
  14. I do live for now but i often wonder how my grand children would have hacked it , i would love to shove the b*****ds out there for a month but saying that there was a POW who worked there and i could not have hacked his .
  15. The Orchard is now a large Badger sett now the old Fellah would have turned in his grave if he saw that , he had lost the bottom of his leg WW1 he used to climb the stairs at night it made an awful noise and my sister used to tell me that it was Blind Mary coming to get my eyes and that would start me wailing , if Mam heard she would come in and my sister would say i had been swearing , CRACK.
  16. I needed a few marker pins so i looked in at the place i called home for the first eleven years of my life, no running water , no bathroom no electricity , and outside toilet , the picture with the upstairs fire was me and my sisters bed room the down stairs fire was the living room and it a cooking range the other end , the last picture was a well which was used daily in the garden were Pig sties Fowl pens and dog Kennels , i stood there a few minutes and saw a lot of Ghosts and thought i could move back tomorrow.
