Went to this place a few weeks ago it was the first Grouse Moor that I have ever been on and it was loaded with open setts that were full of Rabbits , there was a series of mishaps but we ended up with a few , there should have a lot more but sometimes the Game don't play you're way . bright spot of the day for me was the Mole Catcher came over and asked if his Grand son could tag along as he had never been out with the Ferrets , within a couple of minutes the lad had pulled three out of a stop end and two more bolted under his feet . Not a large bag but a Top day for the Lad and me .

I saw a few Rabbits crossing a lane a couple off weeks ago they were going straight into a stone wall so I went to the nearest farmhouse and ask if I could tap them , he said ok but stay in the lane ,no digging ,and do not touch the walls ,it was hard going as I could not widen the holes or dig a bed out because every thing was Stone , I decided to build them a box where I could place a trap , I have done 14 so far and there is around 20 to do , in the Nw year when they are all being used and visitor numbers have dropped I will take a chance and stick an Imbra in the lot of them .

The hunting life was a great site until a few years back now it seems to have changed course , there is more interest in the General Talk section than the actual Hunting Forums , once the ferreting section was full of trips out and were refreshed daily , the Dog section was good also with lots of lampers showing there Dogs and bags of Rabbits that I could only dream of, all of the forums held some interest for me and even the daily reports of the Nights Battles on General Talk were good in those days , [for those that don't know it was a very fierce place where you snowflakes would melte

Foxes were a big problem in Leicestershire but here in North York's they are not , there is none or Rabbits, Badgers even Buzzards the land here is barren nothing here and when look around there has never have been , I think it is becayse it is all Rock here , scratch the soil and it is Rock .
