  1. hi bud well its a 16mm dia barrel the storm but if you grasp the carbon fiber outer of the silencer and unscrew it it has an female thread, get a male male adapter and away you go!! you could get a super quiet weihrauch or i got a SAK silencer. the main problem with the ''noise'' you get from a storm or any gunpower is from the spring action forcing the hammer hitting the breech that then depressing the top hat and releasing the air. i found a person who will ''mill'' the hammer to suit a large 'o'ring to soften that thud...... will let you know how i get on!!
  2. if im being honest i would easily have a 10 plus gun cabinet full of theobens, bsa's, daystate's, weihrauch's and of course Air Arms!! but my wages dont quite stretch that far yet...... here's to hoping?? ATB
  3. have you got a standers silencer??? have i spoke to you on you tube?? atb
  4. hi bud, well im not sure 100% what would cause this... was the pressure up in the gun?? as sometimes when u go past the sweet spot shots do tend to stray...? another theory is that the napier pellets are whisper close to perfect on ur barrel but some are a bit smaller than others? ive seen people 'weigh' and 'size' there pellets before doing groups, if they are a bit shy of size then you wont get a nice tight seal on the rifleing of the barrel?? these are guess mind u!! i would maybe suggest getting an alright cleaning kit tho, as a good pull through after a few hundred pellets will keep ac
  5. hi, i have been almost addicted to test pellets with my gunpower storm to find the best pellet and after over a dozen different types of pellets i have only found 3 ish that work, thought i'd stick a link in... http://www.youtube.com/user/lexreal82?feature=mhw5 i too have only really used accupells because i couldnt find another pellet that would come close for accuracy and trajectory but as mentioned every barrel is different and what works great in one will perform crap in another all the best with your testing lex
  6. hi bud, welcome, some great guys on here and priceless info, like your choice in rifle!! how u finding the lightening?? ATB I love the xl but compared to the pcp i use its hard to use above 30 yards so i dont yeah same as me then, got the xl for close quarter stuff and my pcp for the fields
  7. hi bud, welcome, some great guys on here and priceless info, like your choice in rifle!! how u finding the lightening?? ATB
  8. well done a real cracking read that!! it would interesting to know how many people go shooting rabbits and not know how to finish them by hand... or couldnt?? but i agree with davy 2 great shots!! bloody wind tho!! all the best
  9. wow.... are you the owner of a magic wand by chance?? :secret: thats gona take some elbow grease mr stealthy....
  10. great aaron thats a good insight into big game hunting with a bow, the videos on you tube must just be bad shots right? your right i have never done it and i probably never will as like i said im crap with a bow, believe me ive tried (only on targets!!) but thats good to see a different opinion. plus its illegal in this great free country?? (joke....) I tried to clear it up above its only opinion's dude and i have actually removed the vid link due to peoples reaction.... i was talking about respecting your quarry (which is also pointed out in the ''rules of forum'') didnt mean for it
  11. well again... it was to get other peoples view who hunt, (to a very high standard) and use great marksmanship principles every time they hunt. like someone pointed out that if you where brought up to believe a certain thing then its okay? i only post in this section as i only really do air rifle and shotgun shooting. i see you must feel even worse than i do about it, for that im sorry but like i said above and previous reply no.3.
  12. did a test today which had some h.points tested at 25m and personally i couldnt use them much past that as the accuracy goes off, good penetration tho!! take a look... http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=149098 atb
  13. thanks guys for all the positive comments its probably a worth while comment that the test only applys to the gunpower series do you think as barrels differ from make to make?? davy i would well love to test them but im .22?? if you have any you think is worth a look in that i havent tested i'l pm you my address and sort u out a drink i was wondering about the damaged ones in a tin of AA field...? will keep on testing i think to find the perfect pellet.... if it exists?? all the best guys
  14. good write up bud and some lovely pics, nice rolling landscape to shoot in!! see you favour the accupell's... they are 1 of only 3/4 pellets i've found that work with my barrel!? all the best
  15. :o not good!! its a reall sick type gutted feeling when those things happen.... good luck either way
  16. well done on the sqizzer bashing!! its such a shame we have the grays instead of the native reds in our country!! little buggers!! they are crafty little sods too arnt they! well done
  17. Hey bud, is this the one you wanted? http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=113933 Phantom good thread that thanks tony went ratting the other day... have just been given permission to shoot rats at a grain store and the place is teaming with them!! got 1 withing 1 minute of being up there and got another 3 that day, gona get a few lads together for a real blitz soon!! all the best!!
  18. hi bill... well i have always been impressed with how the accupells have performed and the way that after a wash and new lube on them there are hardly any defect ones in the tin, the AA field gave some good results in that test and felt nice going into the barrel but there was a few defect ones maybe due to there soft nature...? bisley magnums performed well in first test too so i guess i will keep with those to be honest and maybe the crossman premier hollow points as in theory they are an accupell with a hollow point...? i would like to keep testing but at £8 a tin its a bit price
  19. hi guys just to say after the last pellet test ive been itching to do another and got another group of 7 pellets and tried again, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx3idfo7ZwM had some interesting results especially with the hollow points... ATB
  20. okay i think this is going a bit off topic here probably because i put my opinion in about things i feel are a bit..... so lets just clear this up 1, i never used to dislike hunting with hounds, its tradition... HOWEVER when i said dogs tear the fox to bits that IS what happens!? you say ''broken'' into pieces... its not a chocolate bar its an animal. 2, i personally wouldn't do bow hunting as im crap with one and in larger game it takes quite a while for them to bleed out... which is true 3, this topic is only ment to discuss the ''yee haa'' style hunting of the video and lack of
  21. looks like the bottom one of these....??
  22. true... if your brought up believing its right....? did anyone watch the doc ''the man who cycled the americas'' he was invited to a bull fight in mexico and when he left there, he said he couldnt wait to get away from the blood thirsty crowd and felt disturbed at what he had witnessed, but its a real big event for them.... but yeah thats a good point archie
