  1. ha, him, it was kinda a perfect shot wasnt it aye? would you not find it just a little tiny insy winsy bit tempting...... was pulling your leg Lex. Well as you know, I had old moon eyes in my sights last night, square on, I reckon he was 25yds away, didnt enter my mind to make a shot mate......not even a tinsy winsy bit im sure thats what spooks the rabbits you know, do you prefer lamping/ shooting when there isnt a full moon or does that kinda help?
  2. hi mate, i have just been given permission to shot at a grain yard in kent that is supposed to be crawling with rats.... sounds like a blast!! i am sure there has been loads of great tips on this thread but it 9 pages now and was just wondering if you had any tips?? im guess night is prob best with maybe a red filter? do you bait an area maybe with some peanut butter? was also gona zero my rifle at about 15 yards ish? any little trick of the trade will help mate, thanks regards lex

  7. hi mate zini is quite right and just so you know if you use a pc there is a software download called chairgun pro from hawke (scopes) that let you work out the ballistics of hundreds of pellets (i use it all the time) they have built in BC (ballistic coefficient) of each pellet because of the weight and you can even use comparison to see the difference of 2 pellets zerod at different distances to see your drop off the link is here http://www.chairgun.com/ it is full of great printable info like cap inserts and working out mildot drop at certain ranges even using your mil dot as a rang

  13. all this talk of new guns has been playing hard on my mind and i am afraid to say that tomorrow i will be getting a new one. .. BSA R10 or falcon lighthunter and i am not sure which yet but its gona happen!! i can stand it no longer!!!!
  14. yeah very good info zini, a head shot os really the only way, unless very close with a well aimed heart shot, they hide up very well and often they will just sit there looking at you till you raise your rifle then go up a tree and hide round the back , i have spent a while going side to side as they go side to side round the back of a tree, little buggers but good luck and let us know how u get on!!

  18. funny you should mention that, i have seen a vid on youtube where they skin and prep it for eating, same as rabbit really but to be honest im not sure i would really, they are tough old things and im sure the meat will be tough? i have a mate however that wants a couple next time as he has had them before so i will prep them for him and see what he comes up with?? what do you think?? regards
