  1. hi guys just to say i made a quick vid up today on you tube and done a little accuracy test on a 5 pellets groups with my gunpower storm to see how 6 different pellets faired....... http://www.youtube.com/user/lexreal82?feature=mhw4#p/a/u/0/2j_M23qf4o4 i didnt weigh each pellet but the results were interesting...... ATB lex
  2. cheers andy yep was a smashing day ATB
  3. :notworthy: :clapper: i thought as much but yes totally agree with that si, i have had the lucky fortune to shoot pcp, springers, .22 rimfire, 5.56 nato, .308 and shot guns and taming and learning the recoil of your weopens are the key.... not that you have much taming over a gpmg or minimi lex
  4. wow, good feedback for the AA ProSport then?? just did a quick look up of it and its got some good reviews, any springer performing out at that distance is... well.... awesome! so your having fun with the locals then?? have you been out yet?? lex
  5. thank you phantom, yeah i really like my home made wooden grips now... i had alot of work done to the internals of my gunpower storm when i got it and am finding it a dream to shot now!! im gona try and get some cam clips to add to the write ups in the future.... all the best
  6. welll..... i really struggled to get back into having a springer as ive been pcp for years but to be honest after getting my 30m groups from nearly 2" down to just over 1/2" and many different pellets down the barrel i am now getting on with it... and happy.... took a while though!! i have done a bit of research about a theoben gas ram conversion kit for them but some people rate the convo others say there isnt much benifits over a well lubed spring and well looked after action?? have you got one then?looking at one?? atb
  7. the modern guns are fantastic but i feel i think jasper and yourself are being a bit modest, in a good way, i believe that they are great guns and very accurate but experience and time with your rifle of choice to know its little ways and how it reacts after say 10 shots of say a s200 or a bit of a breeze or judging distances for hold over or under even maybe?? 37 meters with a 5-10 mph cross wind with a head shot? thats only my opinion tho and jasper your write up is ace and proven record on top shots zini.... well your get there one day....... only joking your dvd speak for themse
  8. hey zini!! hows it going?? you managed to get online then bud?? all going well tho?? bet you missing the r10 aye? ATB
  9. yeah i really was!! had the best shot of my air gun time so far!? and a nice few in the bag.... thats true davy you do get what you put in, and to be honest my time has been taken up so much with other commitments that i guess i have come to expect maybe too much when i do get around to going out!! i must try and make more time. just had a couple of times when its been over cast and drizzling and not seen anything!? but sometimes the very best days are when you nearly dont go..... all the best guys lex
  10. :wallbash: argh how fustrating!! i have days like that where nothing seems to come off! ! oh well... the woody lives to be shot another day bud.... ATB
  11. i used to have alot of springers but went to the darks side of pcp and didnt look back, 8 years later i decided to get a bsa lightening storm for ratting and wow.... took alot of getting used to the hold is everything like you said... i was getting 1"1/2 groups at 25m!? and thought this gun is obviously bent or summit!? no..... it was the organic soft thing holding it!! with time and patience i can now get 1/2" groups at 30 meters..... ATB
  12. im sure you will hear from the guys on here that most barrels have certain makes of pellets that work,, like my bsa lightening tac only gets good groups with accupells (crossman premiers)... if poss i managed to get a lot of 15 bags (50 pells in each bag) test pellets of major brands so you can test them with your barrel hope it helps ATB
  13. hi bill thanks for the thumbs up work has been mental busy recently so have only just started going out shooting again!! is slowing down now tho so will have a bit more time hopefully have i missed much?? if the recent post are anything to go by then i certainly have, everyone seems to be getting good numbers or quarry ATB
  14. its my best shot so far, my gunpower can defiantly out perform me and i will certainly not be taking crazy 100 yard shots like you see on you tube............ hmmmm? but yes i was over the moon!!
  15. well..... i had a CRACKING day.... what a result !?? i nearly didnt go out to be honest but i started off at my first shoot... 100m into the walk round and saw a rabbit laying prone... i dropped to the deck and started stalking, lasered it finally at 60m, i was happy to take the shot so whack... red eye rabbit!! was quite happy with that... then walked down to my made up hide that sits around 40m off a very large warren.... not even 5 mins past and a rabbit popped its head up... now i must say that i would not normally shoot young rabbits but as i am responsible for pest contr
  16. :clapper: :notworthy: well done chap, thats a great bag you have there!! i must admit i had a cracking day today too, must be something in the air, fantastic pics and write up matey ATB
  17. hmmm.... i think red eye isnt just in wood pigeons..... this was on of those remember forever shots, Today i went for a wonder round at one of my shoots not expecting much but within 100m of walking i saw a rabbit layin prone, down i went and started stalking until i managed to laser it at 60m, just yesterday i was re-zeroing my gunpower storm and was hitting 1/2" groups at 40m so i was confident in a clean kill so i took the shot.... down it went.... very happy boy!! went on to get quite a few more but will post that in another topic ATB
  18. shame to hear but but still... nice to have a couple in the bag?? my gunpower storm doesnt like the bisley magnums too much on accuracy, ive tried plenty of different pellets but accupells (crossman premier) are the only ones that seem to 'work'... arh well.. im off out for a bit now..... hoping for a good day ATB
  19. hi guys, just thought id get other peoples view on how the weather effects your quarry?? as the last couple of times i've been out for rabbits when the weather was overcast damp and dreary i havent seen much, and what i saw when spooked didnt come back out to play?? gona have a go today at one of my shoots then maybe mosey to another if no luck at the first. hope there's a few in the bag later!! ATB
  20. yeah fantastic pic's of your 'office?' bit jelous, i have some lovely shoot's but they are evening and weekend pleasures....
  21. :clapping: :clapping: thats a crackin shot bud, eye eye :black eye:
  22. yeah that looks alright... bit on the bulky side but i do like that would be good to know what its like in the field (jams/ wear n tear etc)???
  23. that was a cracking shot matey, good cam detail too!
  24. just watched his long range rabbit 4 and if he had just shot that as made out it was stiff as a board when he turned it over to see the head shot?? ...... not sure , any head shot from 40 yards onwards is a good shot.... 100 yards is one of those dream remember forever shots
  25. ha good one, id have to try that with a squirrel and rabbit next time.....
