I was with you up to this point, but i get the feeling you may not be talking from experience here? "but the fact is load of dogs tear a fox to pieces...." have you seen fox taken with either lurchers or hounds? I think possibly not. It sounds slightly as if your quoting from tha LACS litereature? The one thing you can guarantee with dogs is the quarry is either dead or gone, never wounded. The best shot in the world cannot guarantee a clean kill everytime, most of the time yes but there is always the odd occasion. Recently a friend of mine had to deal with a fox that had been shot lo

hi alex but isnt it vermin though? and whats wrong with bow hunting!! i enjoy it. regards davy yeah true they are classed as vermin over there but do you not think you should have respect for the quarry you hunt? and give them a clean kill? like i said any one could go crazy with a machine gun with no sights... and kill... a hunter stalks there prey uses good marksmanship and is efficient in their kill? there is nothing IMOA proud about killing things slowly which is what happened to that coyote and to the big game that are hunted with bow... smaller game are dispatched quick

Some good music on that vid, its a good shot, just glad I'm not taking photo's of the dear from that woodland though bloody hell yeah
-
well he did start by saying ''this was one that came at me'' but after reading some of the comments it was only a pup and certainly wouldnt of ''charged'' him as he made out, and i just thought that he shot it...... managed to get out the camera or get it from somewhere whilst it was bleeding out then took a pot shot at it and then finally put 2 in it at close range.... just think thought it was inhumane but wanted others opinions as we are all hunters on here. there also alot of bow hunters on there and that is kinda barbaric i think too!??? ATB

hi shay im glad im not the only one then!? yeah excatly they give si stick and IMOA they are some cracking clean shots... what is it with these so called ''hunters'' that feel proud to put videos on you tube of there complete inhumane kills.... any idiot can tear up animals with a semi automatic..... :censored: makes me cross you know!!
-
si is bang on with a springer and pcp as always but if it helps i had to make up a quick bench to do some group testing with my pcp the vid is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j_M23qf4o4 hope it helps? ATB

not good at all!? there are some great vids on youtube of excellent true marksmanship skills of all kinds of quarry and rifles, just watched a vid of a guy using a .338 with a one shot kill of a deer at 1080yards... allowing for wind and distance... 2 second flight time of the bullet... there is no need for taking pot shots!! ATB

hi guys... now I found this video on you tube when I searched for hunting and was a little distressed at viewing it...... first he is shooting with a semi automatic and im not sure how long the coyote had been bleeding out before he started filming it and took a pot shot at it finally to finish it off at close range... why do you think they dont use good marksmanship and have compassion for the vermin they are culling? maybe im being too soft but i'd like to know what you guys think as i have found quite a few same ''style'' videos on you tube..... yeah i have checked it with my 30m roll tape and its bang on, only thing is when i was looking over the hill it had trouble getting a fixed distance at over 300m but..... ha, a little bit out of my reach at the mo.... its a fixed 6 x mag with a 25mm lens and has a clear lcd display, you can adjust for different conditions too, yeah very happy with it!! your right the more expensive ones are a bit more accurate over longer distances and have a higher quality lens and functions, but i do enjoy the knowledge and safe feeling you get when you use it, does take out the guess work which has

hi andy, i went without one for aaaaaaages then finally bit the bullet and picked on up from ebay, £60 delivered i now use it every time i go out, its a very quick and reliable way to gauge you quarry's distance accurately. i think it would be safe to say work to your own budget, a more expensive one will be better quality but with my max shot being 60m i cant really justify £600 on a range finder.... but it would be a gucci bit of kit.... good luck andy lex

pellet test .22 with my gunpower storm
Alexisrouzee replied to Alexisrouzee's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
yeah they are well to heavy for a sub 12ft/lbs rifle they are 24.4 grain but they main reason i think for the bad group is that the pellets hardly touch the side of my barrel i recon an asmatic field mouse could blow one of those down the barrel... im gona do some more testing tho as surly i cant be limited to 2 pellet types for my storm.... FX pellets?? ATB -
pellet test .22 with my gunpower storm
Alexisrouzee replied to Alexisrouzee's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
hi bill i think that is one of the disadvantages of the gunpower series is the internal diameter of the barrel... it a .22 but i think a large .22 like maybe 5.56 rather than 5.52.... now i know were only talking tenths of a mm but i do think it makes a difference as the rabbit magnums and jsb didnt really need any effort to push in but the accupells and bisley's and the dyno TAC's did... a tighter fit will increase the effect of the rifling of the barrel in turn give a greater spin and stabler pellet trajectory ...... in theory let me know hoe you get on... thanks for the fe -
