  1. Lambs wool lined gun bag, 45inch x 9 inch, shoulder straps and carry handles with outside pocket. selling because my new rifle does'nt fit its in A1 condition 22.50p posted within the uk pm if interested
  2. Ive just made a few rows of 4inch mesh with a small sample of polyethelene twine that i was kindly sent by netrigger some weeks ago. The stuff is bloodu awfull to work with but as it is only 1.1mm in holds its shape well enough to be of use as a stop/hedge net. As the stop nets would only be a few yrds long im considering fixing hazel pegs direct to them rather tham bothering with end pins. i will let you all know how i get on with them in the field.
  3. click on the chat room box, top right corner of screen, enter your username and pass word, click on log in, easy as that

  5. SORRY to leave just as the partys warming up but i must go and have my dinner, thing is i cant drink on a empty belly, dont want to make an arse of myself. Well ill finish this pint before i go Now im in the chair, what you all having?
  6. Now, in my quest for knowledge on netting has anyone ever used a net made from polyethylene. Its the kind of material that some forms of bird proofing is made from. Make it with a 4inc mesh, If you were to make up a short stop net from this hard wearing gear it would be possibly snag free, ideal for use as stop nets through hedges, dont you think?
  7. well if your feeling that low let me buy you a drink Naaaaaa feck it have two
  8. Its on google images, its said to be a .60cal (thats what it says on the intro) go type in gun vs idiot..........funny as fook
  9. Im now in the process of knitting a net with a mesh size of 3.7/8inch full mesh. its only going to be a stop net so i can give it a try out this spring, may have to drop the mesh size even smaller if thats what its going to take to rid a customer of his problem rabbits then thats what it will have to be. Of course netting isnt the only option in most cases.
  10. MESH SIZE;; does anyone think that as our ferreting season becomes littered with half grown rabbits through mild winters that we as professionals will turn to smaller mesh sized nets in order to catch those would be escapees? would people like myself who hunt the rabbit all year round under pest control change their methods to suit this changing world of the rabbit? would this only be a change for pesters rather than ( without wanting to sound rude) sport hunters doing the same but opting to except a few escapees? sorry for all the questions but i have an enquiring mind
  11. Bloody technology huh woodga?
  12. Spun nylon has a lot to offer the net maker these days for sure, if you have it in mind to make a long net from spun nylon all i can say is go for it, get the wooly looking twine and there is no need to double knot either. when i say about rabbits skining themselves perhaps that is an overstatement, more of a sort of damage around the hind legs( across the knees) and on top of their heads. this has happened a quite a few times with me and i wondered if anyone had also experianced it?
  13. A fellor i work with has one of those small spades and i thought he was kidding when i first saw it. It is a very usefull tool when digging under bushes or when the area is to tight for a full lenght spade. wouldnt like it to be the only spade on a ferreting trip though
  14. BLOODY HELL CROW what you doing drinking wine? normally a pint of the black stuff you
  15. On the subject of twine diameter, as some of you know i have resently made a 100yrd net from 10/9 spun nylon, single strand. this net works like a dream and is a pleasure to handle. The twine diameter is slightly thicker than any ive made before because i wanted to rid the effect of the thiner twines, like 4znylon partialy skining the rabbits on impact with the net. Has anybody else seen this happen with the 4znets?
  16. [wonderfull things them probes, been about for years but many still dont bother to use them
  17. NATHAN ( or anyone who this question applies to) when using a double stranded net do you find the smaller mesh (the ones that arnt true neshes but (1)b*****d meshes) stop a rabbits head from entering the true mesh or do they work in favour of the netter by helping to enmesh the rabbits feet? On many an occasion i have found that a rabbit is held firm by nothing more than its foot or a few toes ( this being on a single strand net) Please note: (1) the term that ive used is the correct term for a smaller mesh being made whan using a double thread to knit a net, same term for the smaller m

  21. POINT OF QUESTION; if a trammel were rigged diamond mesh would that work any differant than one rigged square mesh ?
  22. PHEW!!!!! im out of breath wise words non the less. So, with more of peoples working grounds being over rough stubble kind of ground, this is where both nets become tangled with rubbish but the trad rigged net is easy to clean ( more so than the trammel) This brings me back to the point of the question, which is the better all round net to use? How in netters eyes does the way in which we can use either nets have much credence to a nets usefullness? if so how do we way up the pros and cons?
  23. £150 for the lot. for that price i hope the gun bag was lambs wool lined, watch yourself on these deal as there can be some robbing bar!@*&ds about
