  1. This is my little work horse, Its not as big as what im used to but due to company srinkage ive had to down size
  2. roach back is just a term to describe a dogs back shape, not a flat back but a back that rises and then curves slightly downwards towards the base of the tail. Its common in greyhounds and isnt in anyway harmfull or detrimental to a dogs running ability. Ive owned a greyhound with a roachback and she didnt have any probs with her running
  3. ITS ALL ABOUT A MEENS TO AN END I run lurchers but i also shoot, i ferret for both sport and paid pest control but i personaly cant see how shooting 19 hares can be called slaughter when we see a longnet post of a catch of say 40plus rabbits we dont see replys of "" madness, slaughter, what a waste"" NO we see posts of "" well done mate, cracking bag mate, thumbs up mate"" WHERES THE DIFFERANCE? Im asked by a fellow pest controler to shoot rabbits within an orchid that he is paid to control, with the .22 and the night vision we can at the start of the winter months shoot well over 50
  4. Im glad my passion for hunting hasnt got in the way of how we conduct ourselves on this forum Sadly i keep myself to myself when it comes to fieldsports in my own area, not having anybody to chat to over a pint so i can only draw a conclusion on my own opinions and no one elses. It is only through comments by fellow forum members that i can sit back and think about what has been said and how this differs from my own opinion. I guess at the end of the day i would hope that those who have a better understanding of politics have not over looked this loop hole but have choosen as some have said t
  5. so what your saying is we should all except things as they are now and either like it or lump it or carry on as if nothing has changed and just except that if you run your dog on fox or hare you are breaking the law and take the concequences? OR YOU COULD BE SAYING SIT TIGHT, WAIT 2YEARS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS THEN. ok we sit tight for 2 years and nothing changes as it hasnt within the last 2 years and we could find ourselves in the same boat as were sitting in now. sadly i think for most that they have ran out of steam or are either waiting for someone else to make the changes for th
  6. good point would it be because the organisers of the waterloo no longer have the desire to carry on the fight like so many coursing followers i know? i do hope not as they are after all the most well known of all coursing meets. Baldie: i see your point about waiting to time your strike but how long do we wait? I personaly feel to many people are pinning their hopes on the conservitives gaining power. think about it, we have an other 2years befor an ellection, whats to say that Mr Cameron wont be the leader of the conservitines by then anyway?2 years in politics is an awfully long time a
  7. I know where your coming from on the single dog boys, i have a fox dog that is potentialy a criminal. But if we can make a start at breaking down this unjust law who knows where it may lead. You as a coursing follower know that coursing was allways the sacrifitial lamb to slaughter so if this can be overturned what a turn around it would be. edited to add: just a thought but couldnt this be seen to path the way for lurcher coursing to follow on as the greyhound clubs have? if this where to happen im sure more lurcher owners would be seen as law abiding than before the ban rather than seen
  8. you answered your own question below the less the antis know the better that leads to a question of if its lawfull why hide?
  9. this is where their stupid laws about animal wellfair fail to protect the animals that it was intended to. it shows just how rushed in this law was. after all the main point of argument was about animal wellfair
  10. Have a look on running dogs thread
  11. what i witnessed back in november was this, Greyhounds in muzzles, no horse mounted judge but a panel of three foot judges. a clapsible fence with a gap which the hare can escape and shooters at each corner to shot the hare that escaped under the fence. sounds fancyfull but i tell you the truth in that this was done with the full concent of the local police force after their solicitors had lengthy talks with the coursing clubs solicitors. All written permission was held in writting on the days that these field trials were held. And it is because it has become a fieldtrial that it is within the
  12. PART ONE, Please read both parts Befor i start i want to say that i am in no way a solicitor or in any way studying law so this is just my thoughts on what i see to be a loop hole in the law as it stands regarding hare coursing. The hunting act states: A person commits an offence if he hunts a wild mammel with a dog unless his hunting is EXEMPT.it then goes on to explain: EXEMPT HUNTING: hunting is exempt if it is within a class specified in schedule1.Forward to schedule 1. STALKING AND FLUSHING OUT.(1) stalking a wild mammel or flushing it out of cover is exempt hunting if the condition

  15. this has to be our biggest fault surely? But where are all the organisations that you and i dig in our pockets to fund when you need them? surely the pro hunt support hasnt ran out of steam already has it?

  18. Your right there is nothing wrong with a good debate and im sure they do have there own battles within. Its just that on a whole they seem to be more organised than most give them credit for. The point i was trying to make was for people to take a moment to think about their actions and look at the bigger picture.
  19. What i was saying about the countryside act was just an example of how complex laws and acts can be. I AGREE WITH YOU laws of this kind are needed and as a full time pester it is such laws that if not understood fully can lead to a problem for the law breaker. there is no easy way to accomerdate all within law. Hell, i for one wouldnt want to see it ever happen wher there is a free for all on all animals.
