Personally, I wouldn't use them on my ferrets; I couldn't bear to think of them lost and unable to eat/ defend themselves - but I can see why they were used - for instance; when there was no such thing as locator collars and people had to poach in order to feed their families, the loss of a ferret on a lay up may well have meant peoples families had to go hungry whilst waiting for the ferret to emerge, muzzles were probably seen as more humane than removing the teeth in their day or sewing the lips together but people had to survive and they were the methods of their day, thankfully we have m

Perhaps as a one off but I wouldn't feed mine on dry cat food :no:on a regular basis, ferret complete food has all the essential nutrients that they need dry cat food would only do as an absolute emergency IMO.

What a nightmare Ive had recently!! Whilst I thought I was being ultra clean - there were maggots growing in places I didnt know ferret poo could get to!! :sick: This has prompted a few changes to my set up, yes, they still poo where they shouldn't! But now Im able to get to it to clean it properly. I should add; its the 8 week old kits who seem to be causing the damage, they just seem to poo everywhere except the corner the 4 other ferrets use! This was before the changes. And this is now. Complete access to all of the concrete floor and I can clean every bit of sh*t! The bit wit

Here are my four kits eating steak! They had chicken on the bone for breakfast. We are feeding them then handling them to prevent them getting nippy (Terrier ladys advice again!) and it seems to be working! They are now staring to venture out of the sleeping area and into the main court to play but their mother only lets them have a little play before dragging them back in They are all healthy looking and so is the mother. This is 'George' Initially I thought he was a jill But quickly realised he was a hob! He will be having a vasectomy later on! Longdogrunner, this is your hob!

It looks absolutely brilliant!! One thing though - and Im only saying this because mine have them too, I'd put little 1/4 inch feet on each corner so that you can easily hose it out (You probably have but I cant see them maybe?)But mind what a brilliant court its going to be when it finished!! The ferts will love it!
