  1. I kept one for a little while (2 months) but I have to say since she's been in the company of others she seems much happier! Its great watching them all play together!
  2. Well done Woodga and co!! My youngster (Youre the grandad by the way!) has done me proud this season too!! Its obvious he's from good breeding!
  3. Well done for getting out in the first place! First time is always the best whether to get 3 or 30! My first time was brilliant, will never forget it, havent looked back since. Keep at them
  4. For what Kill it, cook it, eat it, tonight BBC3 10pm!
  5. Wow!! He looks like a monster!! His paws are huge! He's also gorgeous
  6. I'll send you some purse nets then, just what I can spare. Now that Ive learned how to make them its been like net mania here!!
  7. Jeepers!! That seem a lot. Im sure my jills were less than £50 each and my hob was £49! I asked for a discount as all my animals are registered at the same vets and they gave me 10% off better than fullprice though. I'd phone around if I were you.
  8. I was a bit like you when I got my first longnet! But now I couldnt be without it, best thing I ever invested in. A 25 yard net is a great size to start with Do you only have 10 purse nets altogether?
  9. He looks great! My hob is a giant too lol, in the picture he was on his first ferreting trip, he started off terrible and I was a little bit worried as he just played around for a good few hours but then something just seemed to click I think and he was brilliant the rest of the day! I was really chuffed!
  10. Mark, go on you tube and search the name Mark Gilchrist, he has a great vid on there showing how to gut, skin and deal with rabbit, I have started soaking my rabbits in salt water overnight but purely for the look of them after the soak, Im trying very hard to get people I work with to try rabbit (Most of them never have! )And a very clean/ bleached looking rabbit seems to be doing the trick!
  11. That'll be me then! Like Wayne says we all have to start somewhere! I went out recently and got none and I tried so hard! Just dont give up, every time out is a learning experience
  12. I went ferreting last saturday and set off at 6am, it was pitch black when I started setting up and I quickly realised that its very diffcult setting nets in the dark! I even had a torch! After losing about 5 rabbits through bolt holes I didnt see I gave up and will be going back with more people (I was on my own) to do the sets in the near future!
  13. Well? How did it go? I remember my first time ferreting, it was brilliant! Ive never looked back since.

  15. Whin, LDR reckons you are a decent guy with good dogs and good land, we'll come over for a night , sometime !! Cheers. LDR is right CP, he's a top bloke, taught me a thing or two when I started out!
  16. Happy birthday!!! Hope its a good one!!
  17. I was out a few sundays ago with ferretville on his permission and we only got 8 rabbits that day too after working a huge hedge form one end to the other. Now I know there was mink there as I saw one shoot out of a hole and speed off earlier in the day, and there was a stream a few hundred yards away. Just one of those things I guess.
  18. Its about time you got a dog for me to slip!! She is a beauty!!
