  1. Short and simple...seperate them..otherwise I am certain she will kill the kits..this is a bad time of year to put jills with hobs unless they are to be mated..and the young hob is almost certainly feeling the weight of himself.. Thats sound advice there
  2. Spot on advice That exercise should be done for a few minutes every day - you lift up and hold for 10 seconds then back down again. Remember to breathe in and out whilst doing it or you could end up with pulled muscles. Tens machines are the best thing ever invented!! Women give birth using them as pain relief - thats how good they are.
  3. I recently had a ferret court made by DD Timber Products and had a brilliant sleeping area put in. Well, as we women do - I have changed my mind about the sleeping quarters for the ferrets as I'll soon have a good few more if my breeding programme goes according to plan. So here is the sleeping area that would be an ideal addition to a ferret court. Free to anyone who wants to come and get it. L 32", depth 20" and height about 24" I think? Im based in Blyth, North East.
  4. Wow!! What a bag! Well done you and your team of dogs and ferrets!
  5. MY MATE HAS MK3 TO SWAP HOW WOULD WE DO IT THOUGH Send me a PM and we'll sort something out. Cheers.
  6. Today I enjoyed the company of Chipper on some new permission. I contacted him last week to ask if he would helpme out a bit and as usual he obliged. (Thank god!! [smiley=boogy.gif]) I havent been ferreting that long and didnt want to go and show myself up in front of the landowner - who was there almost the whole time we were ferreting. Nell was a very welcome addition to the team today too, she accounted for most of the bolted rabbits - the only ones she didnt get were the ones that went into the nearby field which we couldnt do as they belong to someone else, she just seemed to know when to
  7. Ive got a feeling this may be him?? http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...mp;#entry503250
  8. Ive had a few PM's asking how much would he'd sell for but he just wants to swap it. Cheers anyway lads.
  9. Got mine this morning and Ive nearly finished reading it already.
  10. The ferret is doing only what any ferret would do but its not very moral or humane. Another stick to beat us ferreters with.
  11. Do you mean this; I'lllet you know next seaon when she is ready to be started!! I think she will do well though under my supervision!!
  12. Longdogrunner has decided to swap his mk1 ferret finder and two collars for a mk3 and two collars. Its a 15 foot box and the two collars are 15 foot range. They are supposed to be terrier collars but they are fine on his large hobs. He has cut the collars to fit so if you had any plans to use these collars on terriers then replacements would need to be bought. The set up is in full working order - Ive just tested it all myself. If anyone is interested please send me a PM. Oh, almost forgot - its just had a new sticker put on last month.
  13. Here's mine; Parsons Russell X Lakeland. She is great with the ferrets and accounted for 3 rabbits today.
  14. No nets were used apart from a 25 yard longnet. I did try to set some purse nets but it was quite clear almost straight away that it wasn't going to work. Today was definately a 'Learning Curve' for me.
  15. Yes, LL thats what I was thinking.........I was so worried the whole time the ferrets were in that wall!! I did a good survey of both sides and took a live trap with me. its not something I would like to make a habit of but some situations call for a bit of thinking 'outside the box' and reverting to methods of days gone by.
  16. I went to some of my permission today that is quite difficult to ferret. I tried ferreting a few weeks ago with little success, then I went with my air rifle with even less success! I asked for some advice and was given loads of tips. Anyhow, I decided to try using the ferrets again and I took my terrier. The lady who owns the land was really nice and was thrilled when I arrived. She left me to get on with it. Up went the longnet, in went three ferrets into the stone brick wall and my terrier marked really well. It was her first season and she has come on leaps and bounds, she is now broken to
  17. Thats a damn good set up there!! John Hubery also made mine and its great! I would highly recommend DD Timber Products too.
  18. Can some one put up a link where I can buy some 10z spun nylon please? Cheers.
  19. Hi Danny, PM me your address and I will send you 20 nylon nets for free. They have no pegs on mind but Im sure you could make some. I have no idea what they are like as I bought them to use them at the start of last season and ended up getting some hemp ones instead. Its Hemp all the way for me mind I must say They have their disadvantages ie they have to be dried out after every use or they will rot but IMO they are simply the best. I make my own now after watching rabbiteers vid on this section! jules.
  20. Thanks Bill, after a bit of fiddling about I fired the trigger and managed to get it out and load the new one. Cheers.
