  1. The whole situation is an utter disgrace! What kind of people are they??
  2. Socks - that set up is brilliant!
  3. Lol, she doesn't know it yet but she's coming fishing with me and LDR!!
  4. I agree with Nobby - well done Molly, you need a medal for braving that awful weather!! I left after an hour in the blizzard!
  5. Yes, I agree with what you are saying Ditch, its just such an easy read that I read it in one day and felt I knew a bit more about ferrets, I get the feeling the lad knows nothing at the minute (No offence intended) so I thought that would be a good start, plus its very easy to get a copy. I've since read some decent books one of which is 'The Complete Book of Ferrets' by Val Porter and Nicholas Brown which in my opinion would be a good read for a novice but I dont know how he'd get a hold of that one as the one I have was published in 1985 . One thing is clear though - he needs to do some
  6. Oh No!!! Can I get no peace?? Just kidding - A big welcome to the site!! :welcomeani:
  7. This is a great book for the first time ferret owner James Mckay / the ferret & ferreting handbook. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ferret-Ferreting-H...y/dp/1852237724
  8. Hi Scarface79 and welcome. I would strongly advise you to get a few books about ferrets as there is so much you will need to know I got my first ferrets last year and have never looked back. They do need quite a lot of care and attention on a daily basis and I would make sure you have a means of separating them because brother and sister or not they will still try and mate - the person who sold you them should have known that. Good luck with them. And PLEASE read some books.
  9. Oh no!! Can I not have any peace? Even on here!!!

    SIMOMAN

What a reply!! Poor you Simoman.
  12. A used sealed rechargeable battery with charger and brand new shoulder bag. The charger is a Deben charger so you would have to sort the termals out or cut the end off and just use the two wires. The price is £40. Either pick up or delivery but postage will be on top of the £40. Please PM me for details.
  13. Things have been crap for you over the last 72 hours!! But I'm sure we'll all join together in wishing you a VERY happy birthday!!!
  14. He got water down him quick; but this wasn't heat exhaustion, the dog had a stroke. No amount of water would have helped. Cheers. Ive been out with LDR more times than I can remember along with the two batteries that he carries and the bag (usually full of game) and the first aid kit (For the dogs!) He also carries bottles of water - not for us but for his dogs, one to pour over them if they get hot and two to make sure they are fully hydrated, I wasn't there, but I can honestly say - there is NO way Billy was worked too hard, LDR knows what he is doing and I have no problem admitting -
  15. Words completely fail me and mine we truly are gutted for you. I went out a good few times with Billy and he's going to be a big miss. RIP big fella.XX
  16. Ive been out with whin on his permission and what he says is right I'd definately go up there again - no problem!
  17. Seriously though - poor dog!!
  18. Ive got three hammocks in my court plus a proper sleeping area. Some sleep in the hammocks but as a general rule they all sleep together in the proper sleeping area. The hammocks are mostly used as play things to be honest. I would definately make a wooden sleeping area - they are unlikely to use it as a toilet so that shouldn't be a problem. Here is the sleeping area in my set up And this is what it looks like with the lid down They get their food on the bottom area and they use the far end of the set up as their toilet. If you put hay in the hammocks they will just tip it all out. I
  19. Im really confident that the leather collar would come off in a struggle, it seems to have enough 'give' in it to do this. Nikey hit the nail on the head when he said try both then you'll know the difference I used to think that the original MK3 collars were fine until I nearly lost one last week and believe me - I had it fastened so tight I was worried it was 'too' tight for my jill
  20. Loads of pet shops stock or are willing to get you proper dry ferret food, that is much better than any kind of cat food, OK in the short term but not enough protein for long term feeding. Road kill is another reasonable replacement in short term. Hope this all helps.
  21. When I first read this reply I thought Dont cook them??? Then I realised you mean - don't cook them and give them to the ferrets How right you are stubby Cooked rabbit is great for us but not for your ferrets
  22. very funny!! believe me - when I get some red paint it will be on the door!
