  1. Surely the droppings(if present) should show its squirrels. Since you've identified squirrels in there as well as mice then traps are your only option for both given that there is only warfarin approved for squirrels and the label states only for use against squirrels. Reads that have you returned rodenticide to the roof space?
  2. If only it was that easy! Treatment success depends on a few factors-how heavy the infestation, how long they've had it (a lot of clients are economical with the truth on this), how much furniture,pipe/cable ducting, how much the room is used etc etc... yeh true, prob is alot cases to get rid , but everybody will get bed bugs at some time (everybody) , it not being unclean etc , they thrive from body heat on the human body, i was told this from my GP . If i ever had few bites i do as i say, clean the sheets, and the vac-cleaner over and it deff gets rid of them . you are right th

    Scat Id?

Stoat, ferret or a pine Martin
  4. There are still bluefin tuna runs up the west and east coast following the now higher population of herrings in these areas. They used to do it up until the twenties with a hugely popular fishery off Whitby that were following the herring shoals back then!
  5. They seem to calm down a lot quicker with ficam. Permethrin definitely makes them more lively!!
  6. Pathetic examples of humanity! On the radio for water twice ffs
  7. Lol pestfarce!! I've never walked away from a nest without treating it EVER!!! This was chuffing massive!!!
  8. You may find they can be tree wasps, they make about20% of their nests in the ground! Most nests in the ground I find are down right evil, they all roll over the same with the dust tho! Germans, nasty buggers, more potent sting too.
  9. Just take anti histamine tablets and it won't bother you.
  10. That would be including the chip and programming I would hope.
  11. Plenty £20 a body Cowboys out there! Scary what these noddys get up to!
  12. Nope, not for me! Kick the box first to get them out then open it and if still in there a boot ontop of them does the job!
  13. Each nest produces upto 1500 queens, most die over winter by being eaten by spiders or warm winters bringing them out of hibernation early. Numbers fluctuate naturally but 2008/9 (I think it was) was a very good year! I did 800+ That year! There's plenty wasps around Wiltshire that's for sure it may just be you don't notice them. I found a nest in a roof yesterday when at a friends wedding when just stood drinking pimms.
  14. We had a guy with bad mouse and rat activity in his house and garden, brand new rolls Royce, maclaren, Audi Q5, TT on the drive behind big gates. Took a few visits to sort it and the cheeky bastid refused to pay! Complete tests people like that!
  15. Lol suit on every nest, had too many close calls with it on, I would be dead by now I'm sure otherwise. Plus it makes the customer appreciate it more as they think they couldn't do it themselves. I got stung at the bloody pub of all places a couple of weeks ago. Nice cold beer made it all ok tho! Been stung 6x in 9 yrs at work. Pretty good average I think?
  16. Now that would pi££ me off so bad I would not be able to work there. Maybe so but I'm on 8k a year more where I am, do less hrs for it and get no hassle, have a say in how things are run. I am pushing him to do the RSPH level 2 and he will be doing it. I'm quite ok with it lol
  17. The only way to become a pest controller is to go work for a big company( I did 7 years for a national and got to treat just about everything going!), get your tickets for free, learn all the pests and how to treat em, put up with a bit of BS for a few years and have money no object for treaments. Then and only then are you able to be a pest controller. My current boss fell into pest control as his father In law owns the business. He has done a few one day instant pest control courses over the last 3 years and still is no pesty! A course is s bit of paper and nothing more, practical expe
  18. I believe some may be leaving onsite for the customer to bin, you won't use a whole aerosol on a nest anyway. Therefor if left with the customer they can bin em. domestic aerosols have the same ingredients just a smaller tin. FYI I don't use them unless it's for a knockdown around a window to sort out some escapees.
  19. I was lucky that they were a bit dopey. The youngsters were shot in a very safe manner with no pellet leaving the boundary. As no skyline shots taken although they were presented plenty of times. I've shot for 25 yrs and am perfectly able to make a shot safely in urban or rural areas. This property was in a rural area about half a mile from the centre of any highway. Thanks for those clarifying the rules and thanks for your concerns to rest of you guys but please climb back off the soapboxes Moxy never assume anything, it only makes you look like a f...ing idiot when you are wrong.
  20. Had a job this week with 2 squirrels in a roof, only place for traps was on the fence due to roof conversion. 3 traps set.... Next day 3 squirrels caught no more sightings or noise reported. Job done......I looked at the roof and sure enough 5 youngsters playing about!! Gun out and 4 shot in quick order with 1 that wouldn't play the game. Good ole fenn sorted him next day. All this with a customer who really didn't want them killed and was in tears the whole time!! Luckily it went well!
  21. Chickens need to eat a huge amount of poison to kill them, difenacoum/bromadialone is 1kg of poison per kg of body weight! Rats generally are not "immune" to poisoning there is usually not enough poison in place to control them. Resistance is not common unless you live in cities like London or Birmingham. If it's a handful of rats then a small amount of poison will sort them out much quicker than buggering around trying to get a ferret or shoot em.
  22. Anybody on here do much game dealing at farmers markets etc? It's something I'm thinking of doing as I have a good background in game butchery from working in a dealer butchering venison a number of years back. Only looking to do one or two a week from home after converting the garage.
  23. Makes no sense to me, weaker Spring is more effective? It may fire quicker but won't be as effective at killing. I have some talpex type that are 10 +yrs old and still catch but have been "missing" lately which is odd. Are they not holding him tight enough or soil holding the trap back as I springs as they are weaker I don't know. I took some new ones out today and they are savagely quick so set them in the same areas as the older ones to compare. Doubtful, in actual fact the opposite is true with Talpex types. The weaker the spring the quicker it fires. The Talpex is so well made that I
