  1. Excellent read mate, you just can't beat a bit ood red hot springer action.. Never tried a hw35, but I love an , even more than me pro sport(!) Very hard pushed to beat a tuned hw, especially the older ones when they really were built like panzers.. Cheers, wurz
  2. They do have a little bit of twang compared to the pro sport daz, but its just part of their charm lol
  3. If its got as serial number, go on the bsa owners group forum and check the vintage guns section, you can either look it up our ask someone there. Theyre pretty good guys over there and should give you all the info you need mate. Cheers, wurz
  4. You don't have to join a club if thats not for you mate, just turn up at a comp and folk'll show you the ropes. If you can make it to any of the southern hunters series there'll be a few of us there so we can point you in the right direction(sorry, can't get your location on me phone so I dunno if you can or not). Its a great crack, and will definitely improve your shooting. Personally, I've taken the 'field full of knock downs' route cos I'm anti social lol, but generally the clubs are pretty friendly and wil provide you with an in to the sport, but if you just wanna turn up at a comp, then t
  5. Been reading this with interest, and thought I'd throw this into the mix- buy an old hw80 for around £100, and either tune it yourself with a kit, or strip it and polish the internals since quite frankly its just as easy to do a hw as it is to do an smk, probably easier in fact since the fekker wil actually go back together without requiring 400 extra washers and a ton of shim material. And at the end of the day, if you make a hash up of it, you can take it to a gun smith and hold your hands up to a balls up, and get em to put it right for a not massive sum of cash. In fact most old 's I've co
  6. Sr12's are the best scope for a .22 I reckon, if you can find one cos they don't make em anymore. A lot of lads rate those hawke panorama jobs now, but I haven't used one so I dunno. JS ramsbottom do a good line of own brand scopes that are great for their price and worth checking out too.
  7. Skip to the end mate.... We're rapidly becoming a police state, more censorship, the anti's getting more credibility cos the medias run by left wing whingers determined to strip the great from britain. The only way to fight them is to stick together and keep doing what we do, put the vids out, introduce young people to the sport and keep smiling, whilst acting like ambassadors cause it gives them less to bitch about. Keep it up davy,si, and anybody else who makes vids that show shooting in a responsible light, and f**k the anti's- we're doing nowt wrong here. Cheers, wurz
  8. Bless ya daz, thats very kind of you to say so, but I'm not anywhere near as consistent as I'd like to be. I'd really like to make the jan meet but I won't know until much nearer the time, so no point putting my name down yet. Mind you, if youre still working down this way, theres nowt to say you can't bowl over for a springer session one wewkend if you want to, youre very welcome bud. Cheers, wurz
  9. Brilliant photos darryl. Theres many a happy recollection in here, well done mate :-D
  10. I do now! Names may be changed to protect the innocent lol
  11. Great video si, lots of happy memories from the meet there mate, nice one. :-D Cheers, wurz
  12. I'd be able to do that with the pro sport on a very good day daz but I reckon it'll be a while before I can do it with the , unless I poke em with the end of the silencer... Must be that shorter barrel of yours daz mate lol
  13. took it out last night, and its shooting 40m inch knockdowns with ease, i really cant fault it at all, the only problem is the tosser shooting it(thats me, not mike obviously...) cheers, wurz
  14. easily done mate, but it has to be said that any different pellet you use will change your zero since theyre all slightly different in weight and aerodynamics. its best practice to always check zero before you shoot at live quarry for the reasons youve found out pal. cheers, wurz
  15. Combro's can be a bit iffy on springers though, readings can vary by a ft/lb so be aware of that mate. Cheers, wurz
  16. You could pick up an old west german hw80 for around the 150 mark, and that should be more than smooth enough for roosters mate. Much better build quality than the modern versions. Light, pointable, built like a tank and accurate as hell. Whats not to like!! Cheers, wurz
  17. Going by the avatars,i don't think its the shooting he needs to take it easy on....
  18. If I can make it I will tony, but I won't know if I can make it until a lot nearer the time cos of other stuff I've got on, january is gonna be a bad month for me, putting it mildly :-( thats why I haven't my name down yet. Still, at least it'll be quieter... Cheers, wurz
  19. oh yeah, the G.A.M. stands for gurt air musket lol
  20. hi lads, well first up i'd like to say a big thank you to andyfr1968 for doing a top tune job on my elderly hw80, he's done a cracking job on it, making it very smooth to shoot, with a nice quiet action, very little recoil and very good pellet to pellet consistancy-i'm over the moon with it. i've put it in its original stock, having made some alterations to the comb and the forestock utilising plastic padding and dowel, to make the comb much higher so it suits the scope and the foreend deeper to make standing shots a bit more comfortable, especially since its a full length barrel. i s
  21. Good work archie, and always nice to see a new addition to your avatar harem :-) Cheers, wurz
