A VERY Happy 12th Birthday for my Weihrauch HW80 .22

judging by some of the bleeding reprobates my stepdaughters tried to bring home, prepare yourself for the worse my friend!!! -
hi lads, as some of you may know, davy(t63)and chas(lighthunter) were down this weekend for the air arms rsn10 comp at fletching, so they turned up on saturday afternoon and we headed up to the valley for a serious zeroing, calibration and plinking session as my usual range was out of bounds while the shoreham airshow was on. we headed down the steep sided valley and set up at the bottom, where we proceeded to set up a 60yd range with knockdowns, spinners and pellet catchers set at 5yd intervals and random ones chucked in just to cause confusion and happily played with the guns for a few

excellent behavior simon, and congrats to your for such stirling service. mind you, next year it'll be a teenager so it wont wanna come out with its dad cos you wont be cool anymore and instead of it singing to you, you'll be lucky to get a grunt or some kind of sarky comeback... all the best my friend, wurz -

I'll be taking mine mate. Youre more than welcome to have a go with it pal Cheers, wurz -
If you don't want to use araldite (which I may do on the pro sport now, thanks for that simon) then some double sided sticky tape on each mount wil do the job nicely, and also stops you from being able to over tighten the mounts and crimping the scopes saddle. Plenty of thread lock, or the wife's expensive nail varnish on all bolts and the jobs a good un. I prefer a one piece mount on a springer, and anything less than sportsmatch is a waste of your money in the long run, in my book. Cheers, wurz

Sorry thats with us lot, not 'worth us lot' Sodding phone...

With emphasis on the 'laugh'... Andy, theres normally one or two pegs where you must take a shot from in a certain position buti think you can pick your own firing position at most of the pegs.I should imagine that if you explained your predicament you'd be ok, but if not, it shouldn't stop you from being able to do the comp and have a giggle worth us lot, you just might not be able score officially? cheers, wurz

Hell yes lol

Definitely up for it davy, dunno how well our banter will be received at a serious comp tho. Oh well.... Cheers, wurz

Mapping Pellet Trajectory

Same here,i can't get on with the computer stuff at all, apart from coming on here, and a few other sites (yes, those sites....) When calibrating my scope I take a bunch of knock down targets out with 15mm kill zones and just spend an afternoon or two simply shooting at them. Once I've worked out where I'm looking I just spend an afternoon shooting at them randomly and see how I'm getting on. I know doing grouping tests is more accurate but I get bored pretty quick, and find that I'm able to see how I'd get on in a real world test with the knock downs cos if I miss then sod all happens and -
i had one last year that was manky as hell appearancewise, but was deadly accurate with a sublime trigger. you might find its still worth a try of mate, and you can always barter the price and give it a clean up. better still, if it looks dog rough you'd have an all weather gun that you wouldnt care about getting knocked and scratched in general use cheers, wurz

buy it!!! then laugh all the way home due to grabbing yourself a bargain!!!

it certainly would! i think tony wall puts them on his hw95 based banshee, so a grown up hw80 version would look the mutts nuts.

funnily enough, i'm halfway through building a new stock for my ', involving a raised comb and a fore end thats very reminiscent of a s410 but a bit deeper. its a total experiment so i'll leave it at that for now in case its a complete failure lol i was looking at cs's tyrolean not so long back and thinking how much it'd suit an ' so it'll be good to see how yours turns out simon- now learn how to post some pictures up!( i cant talk, i cant do owt with my phone now picturewise...) cheers, wurz

Excellent! See you then! -
i think you may be overrating my abilities but thanks very much for the kind words simon, especially from probably the best springer shot i've ever seen( if carlsberg made snipers lol) the thing for me with the pro sport is the fit, particularly the comb height since it gives my finely chiseled features(stop laughing at the back there!) a perfect cheek weld every time i shoulder it. which was why i got instead of a 77 or 97k, purely down to the feeling in the shoulder for me. youre right about the remington 700 comparison, especially with the weihrauch 77 silencer on it, it looks, well, b

never mind all that, whatever happened to goldberg on WCW? he smashed hogun right up lol
-
well simon definitely showed me and my pro sport at the june meet... although for me, i shoot the pro sport better than any other springer i've tried, including a '97k. cheers, wurz edited to say, i think they outshoot untuned weihrauchs, but after tuning youre hard pushed to beat a hw...

here you go davy, its not at a club as such, and apparently theres only 200 places for it, and its a 40 target course instead of the usual 30. http://www.wildernessevents.co.uk/ any other lads fancy meeting up for it? the more of us there are the more we can put off the target tarts with some evil banter... cheers, wurz -

are we putting names down for brekky this time, cos defo put me down for 1!!! -
I've noodle arms too mate, and having owned both, I'd take an ' any day. Like you,i prefer a bit of weight and the handles and shoots brilliantly. Doesn't feel too heavy if youre used to an under lever either. Much steadier for kneelers I find. Cheers, wurz
