As a some of you may know being Air Arms owners, the Annual Air Arms meet took place nr Ilkeston in Derbyshire at the weekend. Myself and Festa made the trip down from "Oop North" and met up with a few other THL members and had ourselves one hell of a weekend, with wor kid (Festa) coming third with 61/70 points in his first ever HFT competition. It was great to finally put faces to usernames, we had some good banter and a fair few with Davy's marinated rabbit which I expertly BBQ'd and wor kids chicken curry it was a great night and I for one can't wait for the next time we can get together

Looking forward to the documentation Davy mate Darryl

Piss taking...... Is that what you call piss taking Davy..... I would call that good banter between good mates mate if we didn't have a laugh like we did it would have made for a boring weekend!! Also since you are asking permission for the video I may as well ask your permission to put up the photos of yourself I took, they will of course come with the usual government health warning so as not to offend again a top weekend with a top bunch of lads!! Darryl

Nice going on both the permission and the shooting mate It just goes to show persistence pays off. Just think..... What would have happened if you had decided to go home when you were pissed off!!! Look forward to reading more mate Darryl

I've started doing restorations mate, and have of late completed a FULL restoration of a Relum SuperTornado of which the post can be found on here. I am currently restoring a Diana 24D of which I deleted the photos off my camera by accident but the finished article will be posted soon. Any other "projects" anyone else has they can PM me as I'll surely take them and document the restoration for repost on here. Good luck to whoever gets it, hopefully they'll document the restoration too! Darryl p.s If it all falls through I'll have it.....

The proper way...... Hold rabbit firmly around the shoulders put your palm on the bottom of it's chin and push upwards, quick and painless to the rabbit...... none of this amateur karate chop crap! Darryl

Finally got my website together....

Cheers for the kind comments!! I haven't got a clue to be honest unless it's due to flash player. I noticed myself that the thumbnails are desaturated but the colours then seem to be normal in the larger version Like I said though as with all things "web" they're all subject to change Darryl -
here here. As much as it is a warning most of us are adult enough to know right from wrong so anyone who decides to flout the law AND take photographic evidence deserves to get caught. As it happens unless it's required for DPI competitions I normally save for web to reduce the filesize This is merely my personal opinion no offence intended Darryl

Instead of me trying to explain it and typing it all out have a look here..... http://photography.about.com/od/takingpictures/u/BasicsPath.htm Thats should give you the basic knowledge you are looking for.....then it's one hell of a steep learning curve if you wanna take it any further from there...... it's not as easy as just point and shoot! Darryl

would make a nice HDR Darryl

As the title says, I've finally managed to put my website together after months of deliberating. It's still work in progress with the layout and fonts etc but at least I have my own space to play with. Feel free to have a look and comment.... the address is www.djlphoto.co.uk Cheers Darryl

Very nice....once bitten you've had it!! Darryl

BSA Ultra is a good place to start in my opinion mate Darryl

As said mate both new and secondhand vary greatly in price ranging from £100 to nearer £1500 best thing to do is buy what you can afford if the rifle "fits you". By that I mean get out there and try before you buy. Some rifles will feel more comfortable when you shoulder them. Take the weight into consideration ...If you are on a long hunting trip will you be able to cope with a heavy rifle?? Will it be a spring rifle or precharged?? Will it be .177 or .22?? Above all else when you've got your new weapon of choice practice on paper and get used to the way it fires before taking ou

Nice shooting mate.... Shame to see them go but when the £££'s start rolling in from your new business venture I'm sure you'll find worthy replacements Darryl -

100 yard rabbit shot with 12ft/lbs.
Marksman replied to LordGamebore's topic in General Airgun Discussion
This guy is clearly on drugs..... Or doesnt deserve to own any type of rifle in my eyes. Going through the youtube posts others have made and his replies deems his a very irresponsible shooter anyway, perfect "ammunition" (pardon the pun)for anti's! Here's one what really caught my eye.... # thebestshooter123 shooting card at distance fine . shooting rabbits at 100 yards is wrong , hey you were lucky that time and may be other times but an air rifle is the wrong tool for long distance bunnies .get your self a 17hmr or.22lr and have your long distance fun . 2 months ago # -
so I take it they didnt take the advice I gave you to tell them mate.... a simple swear filter like I have on my site. It automatically changes the swear word for another random word. eg. On my site I have the word F**K changed to Donald Duck, F***ED changed to Cattle Trucked etc. Just on the simple fact I class my site as a family site where minors (10 and under) can view posts etc Maybe you should reitterate it back to them again mate, saves work for the mods too Darryl
