  1. Cheers for the comments lads....I'm just pleased it was only a "one day thing!!" We were supposed to be going out again tonight but I havent been to bed yet and have done a hell of a days work today so a couple of tinnies and that will do me!! Darryl
  2. Great write up and pic mate 2 more than I got though...saying that...you did have more land to play with than I did!! Darryl
  3. Nice shooting Tony! Seems to me like a revenge attack for the guy claiming back what was originally his! Hope it works out for you mate and you get the new ticket signed! Darryl
  4. Back out again tonight to try and reprive myself from the slaughter the bunnies gave me yesterday! By god did I teach them a lesson! Me n wor kid decided on a change of tactics. Instead of going in the same car to the same place and then splitting up we each went to the couple of small local permissions on our own. I opted for the same one I visited yesterday leaving wor kid the slightly bigger of the two. So.....I hit the plot at about 00.30, checked zero all was fine all 5 shots inside the size of a penny now I just needed to put it into practice! Now what I just love about
  5. cheers for the votes of confidence lads... Hopefully I'll redeem myself tonight!! And show wor kid how it's done......again!!! Darryl
  6. The knack that is..... Decided to nip down to the small permission as I'd never been out for a while due to the adverse weather only to find a utilities company has dug half the bloody field up laying a great big pipe!!! What a start!!! A quick check of zero at a paced distance on a fencepost had me "within tolerance" of a 20p piece sized knot in the wood. As I clambered over the heap of soil they made to get to the other side where I normally zero I caught sight of 2 big fat bunnies about 35-40m away having their main course, all that was left was for me to deliver their deser
  7. give Air arms Field a try or Accupels, both great pellets, I'm using Defiants to good effect Darryl
  8. Deben Tracer for definate mate but make sure you get the pro version with the dimmer switch if you get one.....not only will it save on battery power but it wont spook the rabbits as much as the bright light Darryl
  9. Good news. Pleased for you mate! Well done Hull Cartridge!! Darryl
  10. another small tip for you as well mate if you're making one....... attach small strips of elastic 2-3cm long at various places around the suit/smock like what we military guys used to do so natural foliage can be inserted and removed easily for extra effect and change of surroundings! Darryl
  11. Morrissons have it on special mate, a ltr bottle for £9.....it went down a treat!! Along with the glass of Scotsmac to top it off!!...... still fresh as a daisy the morning after unlike Festa's wife after 3 glasses of Jacques cider eh mate!!.... Darryl
  12. funny you should say that... as i was getting my gear out of the car a royal mail van pulled up at the house of where the permission is, didnt think much of it but he came over and started chatting.... turned out he was a sniper of the rifle regiment years ago... of course started chatting bout weapons... L96's, barrett 50cal popped up as well love them!! and he said have you not got a guillie suit?? i said i havent got one yet waiting on a yes to 120 acre permission and he said just make one, hessian sack and sas smock and your away so mught give it a go to be honest thanks for advice
  13. Take them back to the shop where your mam bought them and tell them they are unfit for purpose! then ask to swap them for a decent tin of pellets Darryl
  14. How did you get on mate??>...Any joy?? Darryl
  15. as previously said it could be clipping, damaged skirts, low on pressure or a wobbly shooter! as for scopes I'd definately 100% recommend these.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-24X50-RED-GREEN-LIGHT-20MM-RAIL-TASCO-RIFLESCOPE_W0QQitemZ170466681346QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET?hash=item27b09b2202 a lot of us use them on here with great effect mate, don't let the cheapness put you off! Darryl
  16. Nightmare Davy!! I'm actually surprised the .22 actually went in that far! Should have took step by step photos then you could have shown your own stripdown/rebuild Pleased it's done no damage though mate! Darryl
  17. Depends on the recoil of the rifle and how you hold it, without adjusting your zero try going back 5 yards then try again and see if the grouping moves right and keep doing it back to your zero range and see if your grouping is set at zero, then you will know if it is the scopes or YOU..... Darryl
  18. I use defiants in my BSA S10 mate with deadly effect! Zini uses Accupel or FX 16gr in his HW100KT if thats any help Darryl
  19. welcome back mate, hope your stay is longer this time Darryl
  20. Glad things are working out for you mate, I hope to see many more bags as you get out there and reduce the numbers. I'm sure once you settle in they'll have no problem in recommending you Darryl
  21. Nice going Alex, small word of advice though, if you're going to use a scrim net, hang it over a rough bush hat or similar. Just to hide the shape of your head  Darryl
