  1. Managed to get to the rifle shop after work today to get it chronoed..... It was tested with 5 shots using 5.5mm RWS Superdomes at 14.5gr Here's the figures.... FPS 1. 575 2. 571 3. 569 4. 580 5. 577 average of 574.4 which makes the power 10.63lbs/ft Happy with that for the age of the rifle, I could take the power closer to the mid 11's by fitting a new spring but I don't think it's worth it Next step is to zero it at 25M and see what groups it gives.... I'll keep you posted! Darryl
  2. Now THAT'S where I would love to be a fly on the wall in the cop shop..... They'd all be "yeah ok sir/madam.....what you been taking tonight then....." Darryl
  3. Sounds like an idea Tony.... Maybe even worth a sticky???>... Corpses were well and truly lodged about 25ft up with no ladders....wor kid was cursing....you had to have been there to appreciate it.... Darryl
  4. I thought that all air rifles has to be sub 12ft/lb with the heaviest of pellet available? I know of a case where somebody local to me was using 14s in an air rifle putting out 11.8ft/lb, and he got pulled. The police checked the rifle on their calibrated kit with 16s and it went to 12.6ft/lb, he was done. The police said that maybe he was set for 14s but the fact is he COULD have had 16s. The police can use whatever pellet they like mate, if this takes your rifle over the limit then be prepared to suffer the consequences....hence why most sub 12 air rifles are in the low 11's to al
  5. Cheers Jack & Tony The proof of the pudding will be when I get it down to the zeroing area and then it taking it's first "after refurb" kill Darryl

  10. Update...... A 2 day fully working refurb...... Managed to get it stripped, de-rusted and sprayed yesterday and after gaining more permission today I returned home and cracked on with the refurb/rebuild. Stripped to bare metal & sealed with anti rust..... primed.... painted.... I decided to remove the iron sights and it is now adorned with a Hawke 3-9x40MAP scope which I had lying about So we have....... THE FINISHED RIFLE I'm yet to take it out to get zeroed but I've fired a few pellets into an old benchtop and it's working.
  11. They are awesome and well worth the money..... I paid £50 all in for it off ebay. To be honest it could do with a litle more "variety" attached to it but when we got on our new shooting ground and saw the surrounding colours we just knew we were onto a winner. Needless to say it's ideal for laying up outside the many warrens on the plot, so when it's fully tried and tested and has kills under it's belt will I be fully satisfied. But at 30M to the human eye it's certainly effective! Darryl
  12. yup...I use one too..... but people have already said that!! :icon_redface: Darryl
  13. Ok.... Before people start saying "get off your arse and go find some...." this is a post for all the people who haven't bothered and think they can post on a forums and it will be handed to them on a plate. I'm writing this sitting in macd's after a successful morning so far..... Myself and wor kid got off our backsides this morning and ventured out looking for new permission. The first few we went to drew blanks with the usual answer being "we already have someone" but then our luck changed..... We met a guy at his farm/stables and I showed him some photos of our previous exploits. He wa
  14. How do guys..... After trawling through the forums a while back looking for a Webley Tracker to refurbish I came across an oldish post by a member called Robbo offering a Relum Tornado. Now this being my very first gun when I was 8-9 I thought I would reminise on my youth and set about contacting him to see if he still had it.......He did!! He explained it had been sitting in an allotment for an unknown amount of time and the metalwork had seen a lot better days but the stock seemed in good condition. I arranged to take it off his hands for the grand price of FREE......yes....FREE...all

  18. I did read the post mate.... He said he got it out yesterday as the starlings were out....but then I said you cannot shoot them any more! Darryl
  19. How do and welcome to the site mate Darryl
  20. IF I remember correctly...(if I'm wrong someone will surely correct me) but starlings are no longer on the general licence mate and as such it is an offence to shot them legally..... Check here if you are unsure..... http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/Images/gen-L05_tcm6-7669.pdf Darryl
  21. DONT use any chemicals of ANY kind on your scopes..... It removes the coating of the lens and could affect the vision. If you are to clean them use a cotton bud with tepid water and a proper lens cloth to dry other than that, my rifle's brightwork gets a wipe down with a lightly oiled rag after every session Darryl
  22. NIce one Stealthy mate....as already said....one is better than none!! Darryl
  23. Nice one mate.....where was that at??
  24. Look at it this way mate.... It would have been something else to write about .... Lmao Darryl
