  3. if the flight line goes over that field then you should draw some down bud, give it a go. atb
  4. have you nothing better to do bud? i put up two posts to sell some surplus nets you have replied to both with negative comments, whats all that about? fu@@ off and sell your nets cheaper if you want. i use 3ft nets for hedges(you know the long things in between fields that are not roads??). if your not interested don'tbother replying. idiot.

  7. Waste of a wonderfull creature,, do they really do that much harm, damage ? and are they found in the huge numbers they used to be ?,, i think they should be left alone,, i hate to see them get shot a scury away to a long and painful death,, the kills just aint clean enough for my likeing,, and the strong aswell as the week are getting killed,,shooting hares,,, what a waste of such an athlete,, This is an annual cull and not to be confused with a regular shooting activity. The area where we are shooting is prolific in hares with an annual cull in excess of 100 hares. I am reliably infor
  8. good looking pup bud, let us know how she is getting on cheers, waidmann
  9. i would get in touch with whoever owns the land you CAN shoot on(cemetary, public land etc). its not easy when people are sticking their noses in if you have a couple of fields nearby why not try to call them to there? good luck
  10. they will help somewhat mate. i have a "wildfinder" torch with mounting bracket(green light, supposedly not visable to animals)which works quite well. does your lamp have a dimmer? try using less power with the filter(just enough for a cler view). atb
  11. i was speaking to mike norris who screw cuts the puma rifles and he seemed to think they are "ok". if you have some dosh spare then i would consider upgrading the scope. good luck and have some fun with whichever rifle you choose.
  12. a great write up and a bosting morning by the looks of it bud good pics too(the foxes mask looks messed up ) atb
  13. i don't think my opinion differs greatly from yours bud. i know where my limits are( caliber, choice of ammunition,stalked/seated,type of game and standing/stop)and try to stick to them as best i can. ONLY overshooting your capabilities can be seen as irresponsible(bad shots being placed REGULARLY). my original post was merly to point out to others(who may not know their limits) that this is by no means the norm(and by no means the extreme of a capable marksman). its our privelidge to manage game whether our own or for someone else,we should do it in a responsible and sporting manner by wh
  14. could it be that the moderator you were looking was a "non proof" model for air rifles?
  15. good job,you and the terriers had a similar thing with afox shot after bolting(dog had worked it for an hour or so).my mate shot it clean,it rolled and lay in a heap.all three opend the guns when the dog appeared(man made earth) he was on the lead and we went to pick up the fox.................................. up and away like greased goose shit. three amazed guns and a dog looking at us with "that" look some good encouragement and advice given( some well.......not) get back and give it a go bud,its would be best to have someone with you(they can get help if things go wrong, cave ins,
  16. good to see a thread that is not degraded by ars/////les.(yet). where a GOOD report has been made of a CLEAN kill, where people can state a view without critesising the poster(as i have read the replies they have all been "mature". there is nothing to critesise imho). a good thread,a good shot and hopefully some good venison for the freezer bud atb
  17. really sorry to read that mate, its always sad to lose a dog.they are comrades in sport and every day life(to be honest i prefer my dogs company to most people.they may be a pain sometimes but are "true" and loyal to you). keep your chin up and i hope the pup is true to the line and does you proud bud all the best for you and the dogs mate. michael.
  18. do vets not take an "oath" or something? any rescue or home for pets will help you out with a vet(not paying for it but they have one on call). the pink stuff is surgical peroxide by the sounds of it. hope it heals well.
  19. the standard for the three types(discounting hair) is very clear that they should be of certain size and weight. standard, dwarf, and rabbit. standard and dwarf have to work fox the wee ones obviously rabbit to ground( they are tiny)to be passed for breeding. if a fox can get in so can a well bred teckel/terrier(although its very surprising HOW the fox sometimes gets in :icon_eek: ). atb p.s. the name stems from the words "dachs"= badger and hund=dog( teckel is a nickname for the working dachshound, meaning from tecklenburg).
  20. luncheon meat( never caught on pellets yet, halibut).
  21. is a group of mountain lion referred to as a "pride" too? i expect the will take some finding, love to hear how you get on with hunting them bud. good luck.
