As an Englishman here are the facts about the famine, we let around a million people starve to death because it made better financial sense ( to Britain) to do so.......we valued the price of grain above Irish lives. This was what?.....about 200 years ago? Of course such a small, close knit nation is going to remember that......rightly so IMHO Bloody shame the UK don’t do a bit of remembering of it’s own instead of having to say sorry to every c**t in the world.

I am a catholic, but way above that I believe in Christian principals and so I have completely disowned the Catholic Church......I can’t affiliate myself to an organisation that has actively allowed and facilitated such widespread abuse of innocents. An organisation that obviously places money above any shred of decency. However, I agree with Francie in so much as left leaning people seem to be very vocal when it comes to Christianity and absolutely silent when the subject does not fit their politics.......we can all be guilty of that sometimes but there is a distinct lack of honesty

I’ll be honest, when that EDL started I thought Tommy was a bit of a dick and the EDL was just another excuse for a load of beer louts to makes c**ts of themselves. However, hands up, I have changed my mind.....the bloke dropped the EDL like a stone (sensible imho) and seems to be going about things in a proper intelligent manner. Fait play to the bloke, he has turned this cynic into an admirer.

And I would argue that the consumer you describe has been nurtured and cultivated by globalist organisation like the EU using tax revenue and it’s just plain wrong. But you would be farming if you were able to get the RIGHT money for your product surely? Without subsidised markets (aimed imho at diverting consumer income in other directions) people would have to pay the right money for food? The split of household income today in terms of what households spend on food is about what?.....10% compared to about 50% years ago? That difference has been purposely diverted using tax payers money to built a model where farmers have to rely on handouts? jmho

You seem very educated on these matters John, so I will ask you a question. If the EU all ended tomorrow, how do you think farmers could survive without being subsidised? What would you do to carry on ? Theroretical question I know, but let’s just say it happened. I mean you mention “government having control of your incomes”.........surely it’s your customers, the quality of product, your marketing, demand and your business system (minimising expenses etc) that control your income?
