To be fair, hauling soldiers into court to placate terrorists is a fairly recent turnout (25 years ish) and we elected the people doing it. Rules and a sense or right and wrong are what separate our professional soldiers from these utter animals so again, I don’t think that’s worth talking about.

Soldiers do their job, when they are on the ground they are very, very good indeed……what happens after is totally in the hands of politicians and the people who elect them. If you start talking in terms of “worth it” then we would all be saying WW2 wasn’t worth it. The only people that ultimately let soldiers down are us…..they never let us down.

There’s blokes on here who can speak with genuine authority on the subject, I’m not one of them. I can only offer my view, to me 1 British soldiers life was never worth the lives of every rag head in the Hindu Kush……however, I don’t think you can think about it in terms of “worth it”……it’s an insult to lads that were there. I look at it like this, these lads are by and large the very best of us, they are professional blokes who have a very specific job, they get tasked with that job and they go and do it for their mates and their honour…..they ain’t letting anyone down. Torys and Labour are happy to see a country that can and should be supporting around 50 million people creak under the strain of supporting 70+ million people, 20 million of which are from Asia and Sub Saharan Africa. I burn diesel and I use electric….that’s part of the problem and I can accept that. Are you not honest enough to accept things you do or promote are part of the problem too…..or is it just “write a cheque, all better now ?” I mean I know that is the mantra of the NHS but you do know it’s bollocks, right ?
