Im starting to see the brain washing trickle in here slowly, Africans on the GAA adverts and that sort of thing…..inserting them into probably the most important cultural thing in Ireland is a completely deliberate act imho Waiting with baited breath for the plethora of “happy mixed race family” adverts to start. Luckily we are still a million miles from the U.K. in that regard but you can see what they are priming the National mind up for.

In my very humble and uneducated opinion, when you look, the history of Britain’s treatment of Ireland has been one ill thought out, callous and pig headed blunder after the other. We are talking about acts committed against your own people so petty, heartless, cruel and greedy that nobody in their right mind would tolerate it…….and for what ? So we could throw our own nation down the toilet…..what exactly did we achieve by treating our own people that way ? ”What do they know of England those who only England know?” The British government are still making the same mistake

My old man went to look at a bit of land in darkest Wales when I was a kid. It was right on top of what seemed like a mountain and a load of hippys lived up there in an old route master London bus !!…..f**k knows how they drove it up there ! Unfortunately mate, having in the last century been a premier global player (and further back than that THE premier global player) being at war with someone just go’s with the territory. It’s not great but it’s a fact of life, you don’t get to own 2/3 of the globe by sitting on your arse at home and not upsetting people. I actually think Britain should be smaller and poorer, I think it would do this modern version of the country a right favour but the fact is, it isn’t and a grand don’t come for free as they say.

No, they didn’t, we gave up because we was just out the back of the Great War and couldn’t be doing with it. We didn’t have the resources or the stomach for a long and protracted domestic guerrilla war. It was the normal hawks and doves in parliament type stuff.

Can you think of another country that would have allowed a quietly hostile state to facilitate terrorist attacks on its mainland ? Fact is, the Irish military could be defeated with 3 Tornado fighter bombers, and that’s no shit. So yeah, I’d say we showed restraint ?
