Farming isn’t the problem, it’s subsidising food in order to nick more household income in direct and stealth tax thats the problem. Its importing tens of millions more mouths to feed into areas that were never ever meant to sustain that amount of people that’s a problem. Without that, farmers could farm in a more traditional and planet friendly way and get paid the right money for great produce. We would also have the land and soil left to do it and to deal with carbon like it’s done for millions of years. Concreting over land and keeping what soil is left alive artificial

Don’t know mate, I don’t really follow American politics as such. But when it comes to elections anywhere I just always expect to be disappointed by the electorate. Brexit was the only exception I can think of.

When it comes to farming I really can’t see how livestock is worse than arable ?…….modern industrial arable farming is absolutely terrible for the environment.

While I don’t think farming is anywhere close to being the bad guy in all this, a move away from big industrial farming to an older and more natural method would be great for the eco system. However, this would involve having to charge the proper price for food which rather puts a spanner in the works of the government tax as much as possible way of doing things. Bottom line is, we are f***ing the job up no doubt about it but only because that’s the model forced on us. We don’t need 5 million more houses and everything that gos with it, we need 15 million less people ! f**k e

I’m surrounded by forestry, the difference between forestry and natural woodland is obvious and shocking. I own a 3-4 acre natural wood, there is a diverse range of plants on the woodland floor, light can penetrate and generally everything does what it should. In amongst the forestry, nothing lives !…….it’s a lifeless desert on the ground. It wrecks the land.

Few lads I know have been in Glasgow installing all the furniture for this conference. 2500 desks, 6000 chairs etc etc….they have been up there nearly 3 weeks doing it, had this week home and are back up there the weekend to take it all out again ! I will also add that every last stick of that furniture got made in China and shipped across !

Long as you are paying £1:50 a litre for diesel and £27 to drive into London then alls right with the world mate ! Lol

A single new build 3 bed semi is 50 tons of carbon to build before you even wire it up to the power or put a car on the drive !! Do the maths !

They destroyed the peat industry here and closed the peat fires power stations……pretty sensible thing to do you would think ? Now they are importing peat from half way across the world !! Amazing !

They could ban palm oil and importing South American beef (two of the biggest causes of deforestation killing the lungs of the planet) at the stroke of a pen……but they don’t. Putting £20 on your tank of fuel (with the accompanying revenue) is a much better thing to do obviously !! Lol

I’m not in the least bit educated and I know that planet earth as a machine works…..if you stop throwing spanner’s in the machine. Soil, trees, grass, plants, crops and animals will all perfectly balance each other out…..they work as a perfect circle. What they can’t do is destroy all the plants and soil with concrete and brick boxes then blame farming a animals for too many emissions……everything was working prior to the party donor developer turning up. Theres an angle to blaming farming, I just can’t quiet work it out yet.

If they stop paving over all the grass farming will have no more impact than it’s had for the other 10,000 years !

Purposely have not watched any of it for that very reason mate, I knew it would just wind me up. Without even looking I can tell you it’s going to go like this…… Every big industry run government in the world will make a load of vague promises about meeting a certain target of some sort decades into the future and then continue to crack on like before. They will use these vague targets as an excuse to rinse hundreds of pounds extra every year from the ordinary bloke because that’s “doing something” and use this new found windfall to carry on giving China a hundred billion quid w
