    Head shots are not to be condoned is the wording of the new paper.Though the ONLY recomended shot is the boiler house/chest. A neck shot at 40m's wouldn't be cause for me to worry if witnessing a client. If the rifle was proved empty and safe on the photos before it was taken niether would that as long as immediatly afterwards it was made to be seen to be empty. I personally dont like a photo with the bolt back or removed. If the maagazine was emptied and the rifle was shown to be safe I'd be happy. But this was all thrashed out on the S.D. some time ago.     I'm sure you will be fine Vmax. Like W.v. I had to prove myself. I had to first do 8-10 C.W. stalks before I felt confident enough to get sponsored. Then go out in the field and do an exam with a candidate AND my sponsor. We were lucky enough to shoot stalk a deer (not easy with 3 of you together) and then do a follow up and a gralloch. Then back to mine to do the lardering and paperwork.(all under his(sponsor/assessor)watchful eye.) Then he briefed me on what I needed to produce in future stalks and set me on the path I currently walk. 21+ years in the field(stalking) well over 1,000 dee

    if you find yours W.V. mine might be with it. I actually found mine day before yesterday "by chance" The rut is to weather dependant to predict i think. We had much chasing before but this was territorial and the does are quiet now and fawning. Harvest weather moon and humidity all play to much here. It will happen only it maybe earliy or it might be late but peaks around the end of july here and into early august.

    Hi, I'm after your honest opinions to a question REGARDLESS of what you think to the DSC. The DSC2 system is all change now (post june 1st). The "credible witness's" will be phased out with the old portpholios over the next 3 years. So then the system will be ALL "Approved witness" stalks. So WHO do you think in your eyes should form the basis of the system. WHAT should qualify them for this job?? In therory a newly passed DSC2 candidate could pass through the filters and become an A.W. having only shot deer on their 3 successful stalks. They would need an understanding of the portpholio

    I have lost much faith in the measuring system Mark. Think there should be less input by the scorers, just have legnth span volume etc NO skull weight after all we dont weigh does skulls maybe we should and have them score too LOL.

    I agree FTB and in certain circumstances deer are vermin. But a balance can be met usually unless its in new plantation or part of a ssi ect. I am not familair with the area first mentioned and have no idea what is implemented. It was just a statement which though maybe shortsighted is still correct. It depends if its a job or a sport to this chap.
