Its a very short sighted thing to do he will cut off his own sport.
-
The corenets are fused together and take up all of his head he would have to cast it as 1 thing.

Well right client and right deer tonight. Some time ago you may remember a video of a unicorn buck. Well we shot him this evening at the last 5 minutes of a 3 day trip to get a few bucks + something special. On the 3rd attempt at him we scored. We saw him last night but he saw us and no shot well we were ready for him tonight and after a very tense 15 minutes with the light failing he left the security of the rape field and came into us at about 140m's. Job done. Wish I'd shot him my self now knew he was wierd but not this wierd. A rhino not a unicorn. His front leg had been b

Well i'm bored of this now you are right we will all have to agree to disagree. And its going off thread now. so this is my last post here.

like i said you do not understand the system, what you suggest is YOUR system if they change it I will alter accordingly. p.c.'s maybe completed on different days if say the candidate failed say just 1 p.c. that is the only part of the re-test which counts and he must re-perform. And its the film in the game crop which you talk about I know. you made your comment on there also. again without all the facts.

if you have the extra cash and your a right hander has to be the sako finnlight.
-
sako's are the biz, tikkas great. you should also look at 6.5x55 and 7mm08.
-
I have a book somewhere where there is a drawing of a stag with crosshairs aligned on said shot. think its one of his.
-
Again V-max you show you do not understand the system. If a candidate knows the cull plan, and stalks the animal names his shot pinn/shoulder lung or otherwise and hits his mark shoulder or whatever he WILL pass that p.c. Names shot and hits it.(2.2) nominated shot achieved. THATS NOT FOR YOU TO SAY ITS A NO NO.he took the shot he was happy with. Its a pass. Giving a reassurance as to whispering yes its safe or shoot it, its in how you precieve whats said and you were not there, or heard what was discussed between filming as to his concerns about backstop. All the footage I took was well o

Well if you went to a re-brief like I have just been to. We are allowed to tell a candidate while on a dsc2 stalk in as much as show them the boundries and obviously stepping in if a dangerous shot is about to be taken. Also it is accepable to tell a canditate it is safe to shoot when there is any doubt. Me and the system see no problem with this it is impossible for someone to come to me for the first time on such a stalk and even after a brief understand all the boundries backstops and rules of the ground ect. We are in the event of a wounded animal allowed to track the animal with our dog

They may well be pinned John, but, that is a side issue,as the shot is taken to travel through the vitals mate, not to break the shoulder. the point of any shot is to travel through a vital organ isn't it.?????????????

Martin I think if you look again at it to hit the red region i.e the heart on the quartering shots you will infact pinn 1 leg either on entry or exit.(I can see at least 6 deer on the clock where a leg is pinned) regards john

Some nice stuff there Mark. We bounced a doe this morning who wouldn't run off, she stood 80m's away and watched us walk by then went back to where she had bounced from once we were past. She looked full to me I wondered if she had just dropped a kid and was still carrying 1. We passed quietly and left her to it. Also this morning a distinct lack of does to usual they have gone ultra secretive.

Ok lets put this to bed until you shoot an animal in the shoulder your self and see it works fine your not going to believe it.This shot depends on how the animal is stood same as a head/neck shot. As you can see it will break the spine/lower neck same result as a neck shot. but on your link martin have you pressed shot placement 2... Where does it show anything other then a heart lung shot ???

Well Tommy d. I'm man enough to agree with you and well done on your honesty. Just 1 thing if not in a park again honestly how many of those 15 would be lost? regards john.

Thanks noel you try and film focus and hold a rifle "on target" all at the same time should have 4 arms.

I have shot 2 foxes at 600yrds + and shoot rabbits hares and crows out to 500 so my ability isnt in question. The point is IMHO a deer is a much larger animal and yes easier to hit but also easier to wound. I am a sharpshooter myself but the line stops there its not stalking and my furthest deer has been 300m's and I killed it with a perfect heart shot. I don't post this on here for a pat on the back.I have a 7mm rem mag that shoots sub .7 MOA and is fast and very flat. I would shoot 4 times as many deer if I shot +175ms. I will(if it necessary) shoot fallow red and sika futher but roe ar

Nae bother. Each to their own as they say. FTB

F.T.B. I never aimed my comments at you and if 100yds is your limit on neck shots then fine. I was targeting the 300-400m's sharpshooters.

I did on that occasion but you saw yourself how dead that deer was. Still agood 4" circle kill zone. I have shot deer in the head myself I have said that before. I dont make a habit of this practice and its not right on every shot especially at the ranges which some of you sharpshooters(clowns)take em, My point is the trunk of an animal is larger and moves alot less when the animal isn't moving. A pinning shot is fatal they will run alot less than standard boiler house which i use on most occasions and am happy with that. the deer will run and are always recovered. Even gut shot anima

I ocassionally neck shoot If I am really close or need to take the first shot that presents on welfare grounds. I am happy to go with "Best Practise" as publicised by BASC/BDS. I do not care for "dialing in" and "long distance sniping" at deer, I prefer to stalk! Fair play to you if you do "dial in", use range finders, anemometers and drop charts while shooting deer, just don't call it stalking, because it isn't

Pinning a deer is to shoot it through the shoulders not the leg.( I know I said leg but I meant high leg/shoulder area of the beast not below the elbow.(sour grapes)You can pinn a deer through the shoulders and the withers/spine causing instant death. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://forums.mathewsinc.com/images/userpix/572_nbef01_002_1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://forums.mathewsinc.com/archery-4/stickies-29/deer-anatomy-pics-21358/&usg=__WzSY_Mb2q9xS_Rdr06dfeVPQobE=&h=600&w=670&sz=41&hl=en&start=10&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=v2z2x5Uo9AopiM:&tbnh=12

While sat out yesterday evening waiting for a vixen to come to the cubs a roe doe came out and laid down shortly followed by a buck and the another pair. While the light was ok and before the other deer showed up I had a play with my cameras. They were lasered at 164 yrds. The scope on my 22250 is a new 3-12x56 zeiss varipoint as most would agree the top of the ladder for a hunting scope. It is fitted with a 60 illuminated reticule. The scope was wound up to x12 and the still camera to telephoto so it focused on the image. You make up your own minds. The video was hard to hold the camera
