Yes. From the perspective of sorting out the wheat from the chaff..............or perhaps 'chav' would be more appropriate? To be completely honest, I reckon this section of the forum would be better entitled 'The Thieving Twat & Tosser Section'.........all I've heard is boasts by assholes (who keep their identities conveniently hidden) about breaking the law. Yep! I remember taking a pair to the local vet for distemper jabs, & they had the bloody cheek to charge £56 for the jabs, even though the distemper vaccine in the UK isn't licensed for ferrets................she was supposed to be the 'ferret specialist' of the practice, but still managed to get a bite from each of them due to the gash way she treated them. Paid the bill, but told her in no uncertain terms that I was disgusted with her attitude and the cost.

It might be a subcutaneous cyst? Just a guess though, but if he's otherwise healthy & eating ok then it's unlikelt to be anything too serious. As (nearly)everyone else has said though, I'd get him to the vet! Even if it is just a cyst, it doesn't necessarily mean you can leave it. There's always the potential for it to abscess, especially if he ruptures it

That's not a bad idea at all!!! Mine get whole rabbit, and pheasant & pigeon carcasses a few times a week, & I find they drag them all over the place. Apart from spreading bacteria around the court, there's the chance that ingested shavings might cause the ferts some discomfort. I reckon I'll give that idea a bit of thought & see what I can come up with! As for feeding ferts dog or cat food? They don't contain enough animal protein for them to thrive on it. Ferts needs at least 35% animal protein, & most cat & dog food have nowhere near this percentage. To compound

Aye...............another 'no profile info', 'no location', etc poster Seems to be a helluva lot of them around, all happily-prepared to talk shite about stuff they probably know nothing about. Perhaps............but unlike some, I don't take pride in broadcasting it Sorry you don't agree, but I loathe poachers with a vengeance. They've absolutely no right to be where they are, no right to be taking property that doesn't belong to them, and have the stupidity & contempt for the law to attempt to glorify their actions. As far as ferreting at night's concerned? I really don't see the point. If you need to control rabbits, and have the permissions & necessary tools, then there are far better ways of doing it. Sorry, but I just don't agree in the least. Apart from the fact that it's a criminal activity in itself, poachers are responsible for more damage & inconvenience than anyone realises. The old romantic 'one for the pot' view of a poacher is only held by the deliberately uninformed or ignorant. Blacktabs? Has the collar snapped close to the transmitter? Or could you maybe get away with stitching it back together? Mind you, if the rest of the collar's worn through, you'd be as well replacing it right enough. I imagine you'll need to cut the collar off close to the transmitter mate? I can't imagine you'll be able to unpick the sealant with any great ease. As for replacing it? It might be a bit tricky, but if it were me, I'd use silicon to bond the transmitter onto the surface of the collar, & try tightly securing it with insulating tape?
