Why would a dog license help? stop people who arent prepared to put time and effort into owning a dog from having one maybe? if they cant be assed to train a dog will they be prepared to go through getting a license? I live in a part of the UK where dog licenses are in force. Believe me, it makes very, very little difference to how responsible people are to dog ownership. Honestly.

:wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: Agreed, you wonder what sort of people hang dogs off of bridges I've bitten my tongue with some of your posts on here of late due to your age, but you're way out of order with that snide remark about dogmen.... Grow up.. It's got nothing to do with bloody dog men! there was no relation between the incident and dogmen! this is the feather and fowl section, it has to do with the sort of sick people that would do it to any pet or working animal and especially people that would get off on upsetting children by doing it. You can

Why wait till tuesday? 9 week old pups can go downhill very quickly. If you are concerned take it to a vet.

i it seems to be the women who are the problem....... 'Marry in haste, repent at leisure.' eh?

I'm sick of it myself. Took mine out yesterday, walking through a nature reserve where there were 'dogs on leads' signs everywhere. My 12 year old Jack Russell just squatted, ready for a crap when he was jumped on by the fattest chocolate lab I have ever seen, easily 8-9 stone. At that my three, on leads, got stuck in - result one fat choc lab with bleeding muzzle. I just stood there while the gormless tramp who owned it came to collect it. Elderly woman with her said 'oh look, that dog has bitten his nose'.

There was a documentary on a couple of weeks ago about british women who had married men from the middle east and the marriages broke up and the men ran off to where they came from, taking the children with them. The women went to visit their children and were allowed to see them if the husbands and their families allowed it (some didn't). It was all a bit pathetic and throughout the programme I kept thinking it was a bad decision those women made getting involved in the first place .

Listen to the wisdom of Skycat Also......play with a tug and teach the pup a 'give' or release command. Education regarding manners starts from day one, no point witing til your pup is half grown and having his own ideas about things.

A one-ball wonder?

Wasn't there a shar pei on the news this week that was taken in by a family and it tore the face of a kid a few days later? Maybe someone saw this dog and thought it was a dangerous type and took pre-emptive measures. Also, if this dog habitually ran loose, maybe it was causing annoyance to someone local? Unfortunate really.

Google lurcherpups.web.com for her website, vidioes and the future daddy of her pups pups.......

That's what I was thinking ........

Nice to see the kids out in the fresh air. It costs nothing to go for a walk, only time. I think a lot of kids these days don't get much of that.

Maybe that's a bit harsh - she has put up You tube videos of pet rats in a cage with ferts on her website. Does that sound like weird?

Used to bubble wrap it and frame it up albert but to tell the true, as they have matured they seemed to have been ok... Yes salt the pond before and after mate... It is 7ft deep, yet still lost 5 fish last year, as the freeze was so servere.. The fish is one of the dead ones yes Albert. Was pretty gutted... There are probarbly 7 left bigger than that, and 8 or 9 a little smaller. When they have all gone, i will be filling the pond in. Just dont have the passion for it anymore... Cheers Russ. So sad to read this, I sort of feel the same about mine too. Had the pond abou

How many of them English people would you say get housing and state benefits in America? I know of one American that gets both here and more. Well I can even out your one with my one. My ex worked less years than he was on benefits in the US. All his 4 American wives worked while he had issues wanting to work. And before you make a crack about it he wasn't married to them all at once. Hope you pick a better one next time

I,ll make it simple for you.......do you believe ALL people are capable of killing another person if subject to the right provocation ?..........no of course they are not, there are some people who just simply do not have the core capability within them to retaliate with extreme violence. Same thing different species. I don't believe dogs and people can be so simply compared.
-
Your not undestanding what im saying.....not all dogs have the capability to bite a human, some just dont have it in them.....BUT....we dont know which dogs these are so to leave a child alone with ANY dog is wrong. Its like saying all people are capable of killing somebody with their bare hands simply because all people have hands !!....they are not, some people just dont have it in them to kill a person no matter what the provocation......do we know which people these are ? no of course we dont until such occasions arise. I wouldnt assume a dog wouldnt bite either......but i still know that
-
Of course i wouldnt,i cant read a dogs mind so i use the common sense approach as i explained.....but to say ALL dogs are capable of biting is plain wrong.....they are not,we just dont know which ones would and which wouldnt hence safety is best. I'm not convinced by your theory that all dogs are not capable of biting. They all have mouths, most have teeth and under the right circumstances, could use them. Think of the possibilites..... Thus, your theory of dogs not biting/dogs being left with children to me, does not make sense and could be dangerous.........of cousrse all dogs c

Why Working Terrier should not be pet
littlefish replied to Mosby's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
That sounds a typical scenario where litter mates go to an inexperienced home. Shame she wasn't advised before buying two pups, let alone one. -
Its like when you hear folk say " dont leave a dog on its own with kids because all dogs are capable of biting ".....BULLSHIT !....not ALL dogs are capable of biting its just our interpretation and common sense of not knowing what dogs will and what dogs wont......most dogs wont but theres a tiny % of dogs that will bite a human,we just dont know which ones they are. So, would you leave a child and a dog in the same room unsupervised?
