  1. I have always grew mine in bags but this year I am going to have to get new bags and completely new compost to try them in. I am only going to grow a small amount in a different corner of the garden to see how they do, I was gutted this past few years when they were spoiled. I will grow onions and flowers in the old compost - at least I will have something colorful to look at
  2. It could be blight. My potatoes haven't been great this past couple of years because of it, it happened after a very wet summer. The blight spores live in the soil and compost heaps etc and can ruin crops in following years. I am growing only a few this year to see how they go. In the rest of my space I am going to grow onions and peas. It is disappointing to dig up mush after growing them and looking forward to fresh spuds.
  3. What would making a liar out of himself achieve? It wouldn't bring the dog back and he may just highlight that his dog was out of control. and cause road accidents. Was there any need for this that comment on the end... Granted lieing too get the twat in trouble is nonsense but the guys just lost his dog for fucks sake, have a heart...... Sorry to hear about the dog mate, must have been terrible.........hope you find out who the driver was..... Believe me, I have a heart and a bitch of the same breeding, so I feel for the guy. He said he was out lamping, then adds his dog was
  4. not that it matters Lots of weird stuff going on, crazy.
  5. well its a no brainer realy, but why you would put it up as a topic on a huntig forum ,even if it on the genral talk is beyond me,especialy when we dont know all the facts I just wanted to know peoples opinions before I went to see him. I didnt want to go in with all guns blazing until I heard someone elses view.He has finally decided to cancel his holiday and get his son the treatment he needs asap. My only hope is that the hospital havent already made the arrangements to change the dates to fit in with his holiday. I put it on a hunting forum in general talk as I thought thats just wha

  7. Would you take a small child through them? We all go through live stock with our dogs, its unfortunately a part of where we hunt but to take a child into a scenario like that is madness. Animals can sense things a lot more than we can, horses can sense changes in the atmosphere, storms coming etc, very unpredictable. Maybe these horses were stabled all winter, who knows, maybe one of them is hurt and the rest are protecting...... word of advice when you go into a field of live stock no matter how many times you have before, just ask yourself, what if............. after all, their is many a dea
  8. Maybe her and her terrier were fuelled up after supping in the beer tent

  10. But bear in mind that cattle are responsible for deaths every year, including walkers and farmers who work with the beasts every day....... By the way, I have a 'walking stick' as well. I mostly use it when I meet dogs who belong to twats who cannot or do not keep them under control .
  11. Just Hunt - if people think 5 euro is too dear (I personally wouldn't pay it)they could always treat the show like a shop and chose to keep their cash in their pocket....and spend it where they think they will get value for it.
  12. Would a doubled up length of firm knicker elastic attached to it do the job?
  13. If that was my bitch in heat I would have it housed more securely. The boxer could be the only one that you have SEEN in your garden. There could be others on the prowl, they will come from far and wide and you would be suprised what a randy dog can jump/climb over or dig under. Also, the bitch's hormones could drive it to escape, looking for a dog to mate with. I have one here just over a year old that I am watching like a hawk, waiting for her first season.
  14. My dogs hate them in the garden......I hate them in the garden. This week cats have destroyed two newly planted tubs....they shit in them and dug out the plants with their digging and burying. This disgusts me because I really enjoy growing vegetables from seeds and I hate when my efforts have been wasted. Dirty shitting killers of wild birds.
  15. I do think it is County Armagh? Moira Demesne, Main Street.
  16. In an ideal world that would be half acceptable but he isnt planning on taking his son with him. He's going with mates. 'half acceptable'? Depending on the facts,as I said, not all of which we were given, but we were asked to pass judgement? How long of a delay is there going to be? Are the parents together or separated?
  17. co down...saturday 28th may...just checked out their website, classes are all on there... http://www.gamefairireland.com/lurchers.html County Armagh I believe?
  18. Well said - good sportsmanship and behaviour from the players and the supporters is to be applauded.
