Interesting and I salute you sir. But I'm going for a stab in the dark here, I'm guessing your not a lurcherman, am I right? Not anymore no, but again we reap what we sow. I have access to thousands of acres but I would struggle to find somewhere to run a dog, reason being the years of poaching by the hoards of lurcher men. You cant change public perception of some thing that takes place on land you dont heve permission to be on. I'm talking about my local area and if you work your lurchers on private land with permission then I envy you but for every legal dog man round here we have 20

Why not oven prepare some game, I like to do bags of diced game and venison mixed with some stewing steak and give them out at work. Just explain its organic, free range home preduced meat. Play them at their own game. Id see it as a challenge. Dont try to talk them round just show them the light a bit at a time

I live in industrial lancashire, we are on the edge of some nice countryside and the pennines but just as close to some of the biggest urban areas in the uk, the countryside and rural pubs are also full to the brim with townies......yet while I reconise some of what you say I also think we dont do too bad. Local pubs and markets/butchers sell game like never before, on a days shooting or following hounds we may see hundreds of walkers, school groups and townies but id say 99 out of a hundred are fine and show interest, only the tiny minority have a problem. I make sure everyone I come into con

Price For Squirrel Trapping In The Garden?
DIDO.1 replied to jackg's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Dont think that price from the council is that bad to be honest. If you charge £50 and catch 2 squirrels and have done 3 visits its only £23 pound a visit on your price scale. minus tax, traps, insurance and fuel from that and you havnt got much of a margin. not knocking it though, charge what you need to. -
Iv seen a mate blow a wing mirror off doing the same... while driving round a roundabout...dont ask!

whats your biggest mistake while on a pest control job? mine is turning up to an early season ant job, finding no ants around so doing a spray round with a residual spray, returning later to find iv sprayed pharoe ants. Leaving a body grip AND a fenn trap saftey catch on at the same job and scaring the shiit out of a squirrel that later chewed through a joist before I could catch it.

so your saying if they had a quiet little funeral in the country nobody would try to cause trouble? She was a war time leader, not a war of our starting like blairs, but a war to protect the realm so she should get a militry funeral. Its worth it to pisss the lefties off if nowt else.

blood hounds hunt clean boot. drag hounds hunt a dragged scent. The RA hunt hunted foxes on sailsbury plain didnt they? did they go from drag to fox? or did they hunt both? or am I completely mixed up?
-
yes thats very true but.... not always for the worse. I like most people on here am working class and I often think that if I was born in the 'golden era' of hunting would I as a simple rat catcher be able to afford to travel all over the country hunting as often as I wished. There are a few really expensive hunts (just like there are exclusive golf clubs) but almost anyone now could if they so wished drive anywhere in the country, hire a horse and hunt alongside the richest men in the country. I know lads who work in factories and save up for a 3 grand mountain bike, I know thats a bit off to

Next week was supposed to be camping in Belgium with my brother but after a team talk we have decided to delay it till weather warms up. SO.... was thinking of having a few days hunting in the west country to round off the season. Dont know where to go... so any surgestions? Any one hunting next week, midweek, and wouldnt mind me tagging along? I know I'm not likely to see much without a local guide. May also consider a day mounted so am looking at hireling horses ont internet. Will I find one so last minute and are exmoor/D+S worth seeing at the minute. PM's more than welcome and I c
