I have big plans for her & mom after christmas i intend to use them for working, i have a feeling Gloria has been worked in the past, so once she has had a good rest after the birth & rearing of charely they will be given a go, if its not ment to be then the hobs will do the work & the girls can eat the rabbit they bolt Hope it works out

I was a very good child never did anything really bad i do remember hitting my brother with bullrushes he was a bratt and needed bringing down a peg or two, i remember buying my first single ''roll away the stone mott the hoople'' Apparently i was very distructive & drew on everything including myself , i remember poking holes in the polystyrene celing tiles in the kitchen with a pea stick:cry: and running a knife down all the wallpaper joins on the corners where my mother had not cut the paper & started a new peice. I threw plastic building blocks into the open fire &

i can think of nothing more satisfying than sitting outside on a summer evening with a cup of tea watching the ferrets play fighting all the hardwork you put in is rewarded when you watch well ballanced well fed kits playing

Well i have just sat & watched this 3 week old kit crawl from the nest to a dish of raw mince & climb in it, it obviously could smell the meat , infact last weekend i took pics of her & at 2 weeks old she had 2 visable bottom canines , i also took a bite from the kit yesterday indicating to me its ready to be introduced to meat , which it now has

Hi Doug, she is doing great really pleased with kits progress & mom is doing a fantastic job, charleys licked the mince i put in & showed a general interest in it so i hope within the next week she will be eating it , taking the pressure of her mom a bit. Its a lovely time of year watching the kits develop & grow & being able to handle them , something i missed from rescue days , hard work but very rewarding. You have your hands full with 11 little buggers dont you

She has had a chew on my finger today even at 3 weeks old she has teeny teeth so i got the camera out again & tiik a pic of her Hope you like it

its worth going back to see if its made its way out & been wandering, might even pick it up on the box if its in the undergrowth, i would go back at first light

I would feed raw meat little & often rather than one meal a day, i assume the kits around the 13 /14 week mark now , as a general rule if theres food left after a feed its getting enough, id the foods gone in my opinion its not getting enough & the amount wants upping till theres a little left

is it a lone kit or part of a group is it getting its fair share off the food & does it have acess to food 24/7 is it being fed flesh or dry food

Cramp i am so sorry to read about this sad news i am so glad your having a PM done it will at least clarify if its enteritis or not, will you please post up the findings of the PM as i think its important to other ferret keepers to be aware of this type of thing & enlighten them of treatments open to them if it ever happens to anyone else. I have a friend who has a simmilar problem last year who also had several PM's done on ferrets, fingers crossed you dont loose anymore

I would get the tiny one to the vets tomorrow , ferrets can be racing about one min & dead the next, they can hide symptoms of illness untill its to late. Personally i think the breeder needs a good kicking , i would ring the muppet & let them have both barrells , i hope & prey this little ferret makes it People make me sick with there got to get rid attitude, if the cretin had fed free rabbit from the off & hung on to them a wee bit longer you wouldnt be having this problem, its so selfish rabbit caught & froze cost bugger all but time, so no huge feeding
