Great tip - I was wondering how my ferrets (getting some kits in a few weeks) will get on in the heat - especially as I'm now living down south (I never thought I'd miss those chilly northern summers - but I do! )..... Will start saving the kids pop bottles ready for the arrival of our ferrets! yes heat is killer of ferrets of all ages, even if the cages arnt in full sun, classic signs are panting, layed out & generally letargic. You need to act fast , cool the ferret as there brains literally cook

They should munch on rabbit now ,mince sounds ok, they wont bother much with the dry food & she should still be feeding them, why not get a water bottle & hold it to there mouths & encourage them to take water that way

I had a problem finding one that would be anygood, they have to be a certain size to be able to use as an avator maybe someone can resize a pic for you & send it back to you, i dont have anything to re size pics , well i dont think i do anyway

Well all it cost to save my ferrets life yesterday was £ 23.00 that included consultation, ulrasound scan , calcium & oxytocin injection, a small price to pay

This is a pic i took earlier , the kits going great hardly ever hear it thankfully mom is also back to normal eating while she can & enjoying motherhood, the kits going to be either a poley or coloured ferret as its eyes are going to be dark, no idea what sex it is yet I managed to get one of her wasing it , its not a brilliant pic though

yes heat can be a killler i also use an elertric fan when its hot pointing on the cage front & also wet old bath towels and hang them over the cage top it does help to keep it a little cooler hope the ferret picks up
