  2. Welcome to the forum & enjoy
  3. Well Darren they get a love in the morning while i give them the onceover , then one a bit later on when there cleaned out and then a run round the kitchen , which usually means another love I dont mind stinking of hob its quite nice
  4. All we can do is hope
  5. Well i am hoping she will continue to feed the kit , its very quiet at the min , so thats a good thing , she is washing it to death most of the time
  6. She has started to expell a dead kit now, it was Oxytocin & calcium they gave her , so thank god she is doing it this way , i was worried incase she wouldnt feed the kit if she was spayed as she would be very uncomfortable after such a big operation. So i am keeping everything crossed she manages on her own this afternnoon
  7. Sadly its not good news ,she gave birth to one live kit ,but failed to give birth to the others, after an ultrascan confirmed there were kits in there still , but sadly dead ones, she has been given an injection to try to get her body to expell them, if that fails she will be spayed later today or inthe morning So thats the state of play at the min, i am hoping & preying that this tiny kit survives as it would be just to much to bare if that died as well, but i am staying possitive & cant do anything else but hope
  8. Glorias having her kits at last god i have been worried out of my mind for the last 2 weeks incase summat went wrong. Checked her half an hour ago & she was very quiet , then again 10 mins ago & i could hear squeeking, looks like she has had one so far will quickly check her at midnight & post a pic in a week or so

  13. Well personally i wouldnt neuter under 6 months old .let the ferret mature & it will have to have visable testicals before a vet will castrate anyway .

I think what people are trying to say is the knowledge can not be gained from books alone!! The lad asked a very valid point and you came out and ridiculed him. The guy admits he is new to ferreting and has had the intelligence to ask about something he is not sure of........ If only more people were like that Well said
  18. Maybe a topic on the alternatives wouldnt go a miss as well then to be honest breeding wouldnt be at the top of my list of prorities when wanting advice about getting ferrets & how to keep them. Things like housing & feeding would obviously need to be addressed first , but i honestly dont think the average newbie ferret keeper is going to benefit from being shown how a male ferret gets his leg over I think the moral of your thread is seperate hutches
  19. Well with all due respect why does an amature need to know how to breed ferrets?dont you think they need to get to grips with the basics first Like how to tell the difference between a hob & a jill, cause there the questions people ask believe it or not. breedings fine but i wouldnt encourage it ,its a bit like running before you can walk, just my humble opinion of course
  20. Well when her necks covered in sores & she has been shagged lord knows how many times , someone will be asking what can they put on her neck, preventions better than cure imo I agree Moll do we need to see ferrets mating, we know how it happens
  21. whats the point of risking her getting an infected sore neck
