  6. Awww there lovely , well done they look well looked after how many you keeping
  7. If people think asking basic questions is in some way wrong regardless of how long a person keeps that species then simply dont answer, it puts others off posting & asking simple questions when there told by someone to read back throught the old threads. There is nowt wrong in wanting to get a variety of opinions on a specific question, you dont get that from reading a book, you simply get the given authers opinion which of course is right so unless you have every ferret book ever written you are limited , everyones standards are different as to how they feel ferrets should be kep
  8. I save the tails the cats love to play with them
  9. Whoops what? I'm not gonna read up every thread by someone before I reply to something. Good on Darren for looking after a jill and kits if he found her but what i'm getting at is people should read up on these basic things if your gonna keep an animal. If you go through the old threads on all the forums there are the same questions again and again like what should I feed ferrets? How old to leave home? How long they pregnant for? etc etc and rather than reading through them or getting a book they start another thread on the same question. So whats the point of a forum like this then, i
  10. i have never had a ferret jabbed for distemper in 13 yrs & have personally never heard of a ferret getting it either
  11. Why shouldnt your opinion count for much your as entitled to it as the next person its what makes the forum differing views etc, anyone offering advice can only do so from experience and your findings are valuable

I dont think theres any hard & fast rules regarding this but its around the 9 + week mark as i remember it
  13. Darren found the jill, she was already pregnant when he took her in maybe reading up on the origonal poster of this thread would have been the logical thing to do, rather than spitting venum
  14. As a general rule its spring after birth, but as we read on here litters were being born in jan so i would make sure there seperated by november this yr, baring in mind the jill has to be fully swollen so use the jills as a rough guide Personally i have never had ferrets get pregnant before dec but you will just need to be extra carefull if some of the jills start to swell
  15. isnt it sad when teaching staff feel they have to mould our kids into what they can mentally cope with, a kid who shows any form of interest in summat thats not on the f*****g curiculam is punnished. I hated school detested it, i would do anything to get out of going a classic example my lad has a mate who lives with his mom who suffers mental health issues & neeeds lots of support , the lads a handfull his dad died when he was 7 but the kids a gifted piano & violin player he made me cry when he stopped here & i heard how he made a violin talk Now the sad bit, the kids mus
  16. i took ferrets & a blind cat in to my lads nursery class when he was little, the kids loved it , especoally the ferrets , they were not one bit bothered & all had a little hold barr one lad who was scared bless him.
  17. Ive just got a second hand bench top freezer and its coming today. Its ideal for the purpose but £70!! was what I paid I have a huge freezer thats never full of human food so i sectioned it in half with a piece of card board & one side is for rabbits & the other side is for our food
  18. Good advice Gibby i have done that put the ferret back if i cant see an obvious escape route & the buggers taken me to the spot in seconds There little shits
  19. I think the beauty of hay or shredded paper is the jill can scratch it about & shove what she dont need to one side, blankets are ok but would get damp in an outdoor hutch set up quickly, the paper is light & airy & i find it has to be really cold & wet to make it damp, i also think kits find it easier to move round in the stuff as well
  20. Its your worst nightmare escaping ferrets i remember picking up 8 ferrets from a house during the winter some yrs ago & i put them in a run i had , 3 hours later a neighbour knocked & said there was a ferret in his garden, i panniced big time & went out to get it, i got back in the garden & there were 3 misssing One was climbing up next doors rabbit run luckly they were away so i lefted a panel of fence & the other one was found in the garden, i had not closed the run properly so i learned a valuable lesson that evening Thank god you got them back
  21. Most teachers are only there as a means to paying the bloody bills, its just a job & not a vocation anymore. bring your child up the way you see fit, its got nothing to do with the teacher, they like to have a classroom full of brainwashed zombies it makes there life easier, any child with an opinion or spirit is sadly labled as wild, its total bollox they all make me sick , there only interested in the summer hollidays so they can have 6 weeks off work with pay. I feel the same and cant wait for my lad to leave
  22. Dan there cracking pics & a beautifull mom & kit well done
  23. I think its a bit scarey when you forst work them incase summat happens or is that me just worrying to much
