  1. I'm an avid athieist because I'm capable of making an intelligent decision in light of all the facts rather than sitting on the fence. I believe in Gravity and reject all other hypothesis pertaining to why shit drops, doesn't mean I'm ignorant to the facts or blind in my beliefe. Athiests reject God theories because it makes no logical sense to them, untill presented with facts to the contrary why should they simply sit undecided like an agnostic? We catagorically do not accept creation because there is ZERO evidence to support it. Atheists are not blind in their beliefe, quite the opposite. P
  2. And you expect people to get behind you on Scottish independance! f***ing crackpot!
  3. not really mate, it's an easy enough question, do you believe in god, yes or no? If yes, do you really believe a guys floating in the sky looking down right now? Yes But if the answer to that is no it doesn't mean they don't have their own faith and interpretation of religion does it. That was my point. It's a very personal thing, I don't believe religion is bad..... and faith is perfectly natural. If people want to follow a religion and they are a better person for it then fair play to them. I just think you have oversimplified it all. How can you be religious and not believe in go

  5. What a carry on! If you're cage trapping, just use and air rifle, they're not bullet proof! LOL If you only have a shotgun, take it into a discrete corner of a field, open the trap and shoot it as it bolts. If you can't hit a bolting cat at a matter of yards you need help!
  6. Baw LOL, I think individual faith and religion is a little more complex than that.
  7. The government still technically just represents the Crown (apparently),and the queen is gods messenger on earth. so any rights the queen gives us (via the government) are not in fact given by the queen just passed on by yahweh. So if you're a christian in this country you could well believe our rights are given to us by the Hebrew god of war,by way of a posh old woman. But the Monarchy is a product of our society, we Man created society and everything under it. You take away God and organised religion do you really believe we would not have kings, queens, monarchys, totalitar
  8. Given to us by the monarch or whatever, they weren't given to us by God and if we eliminated 'God' we would still have those rights. Whatever they are exactly? Whether we live in a dictatorship or a true democracy, individual rights were earnt through years of society, not given to us by some devine power. The term 'God given' could equally be re-termed 'nature given', the only difference being some people want/need/feel there is an intelligence behind nature. I'll not knock anybodys faith, but I'm not good at sitting back when it's implied I should be grateful for the rights I have be
  9. Mate, change your privacy settings on Photobucket. We can see your whole album!!!! Delete those link asap!
  10. I don't believe that for a minute, the only reason we swear to god is historical, the actual act of doing so is legally binding. It eminates from a time when all men feared god, these days however all men do not fear god as the ultimate law of mankind so the same comment is basically a legally binding oath. The judicial system being law and not god. There are NO god given rights, all the rights we have have been fought for by our ancestors. The monarch is supposed to be chosen by god, the two are linked in the context of our laws. The reigning monarch has been the head of the Church of En
  11. Tell me, where are these god given rights? Where can I find them? It's a figure of speach, nothing more.

  13. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be able to have a dog. It's primal hunting with animals be it a dog, ferret or a raptor. I just don't have the time/skills to train one! Not saying you SHOULD have one, you're managing without. Just a passing comment following from labs.
  14. Shooting with a dog is a funny thing, you can go years without your own dog and be quite happy and make do, then once you have your own dog you really don't feel right going without it. Having a lame dog is seen in the same light as having a broken gun, it's catastrophic! LOL.
  15. Oh well, in that case I had better find my bible! I have no god given anything, only what I earn and fight for. Well considering its what our entire judicial system is based on, I would say you do have god given rights, hmmm That's purely historical. Our judicial system is based on the subjective sense of right and wrong and a good dose of logic. The bible forbids homosexuality and yet our judicial system allows for it. We don't have god given rights, we have the rights we have fought for and earnt.

  17. Great pics! Love seeing predators on a kill. Fascinating.
  18. I get ya now. That's provoked a bit of thought at least.
  19. Casso you've just confused the shite out of me. I'm not clear on exactly what you are saying... I understand the drive/food point you're making but not sure how that is relevant to domesticating a wild wolf? If wolves didn't domesticate through the mutual benefit of working together to fill bellies, why did they? Basically, how do you think it happened?
  20. You're right Pete, having a walk out on a lovely January morning with a mate or two and dogs, maybe get a few shots and something for tea really does make you feel rich. Not a care in the world, just enjoying life.
  21. When my girls get married I will treat the fella like my own son ... There is a world of difference between a boyfriend and a husband who she will hopefully be spending her life with ....... That attitude reminds me of a friends fathers attitude, big rugby player and shooting man. I'm not going into details but he's a man I have a lot of respect for and get on well with now after a bit of history with his daughter. His daughter loves him and if your the 'right sort' you will want to prove to him you're worthy.
  22. Socks, do you think you would become more friendly with a son in law? In the future when things are more serious. I think your attitude is fairly sensible, I don't imagine your a complete c**t with them, just keep a healthy distance. Untill things get real serious being too chummy it can make things difficult if it all goes awry.
  23. I think this is being turned into a bit of a mountain so to speak. Feral cats are very common on farms, a farmer gets a few cats, a few more stray from neighbouring farms, they all live in the barns and breed uncontrolled, before you know it the place is moving with them! Just deal with them professionaly and humanely, rimfire and 12 bore at sensible ranges is more than adequate. If you KNOW they are feral, just crack on. If you are unsure, make yourself sure or forget about it.
  24. So in answer, they're all shite but also great. LOL. I know the old Freelanders had a bad rep, the BMW engine ones less so but what about the new ones? I've heard good stuff about them but just what I've heard.
