  1. Kajaki Trailer: They're calling it the 'British hurt locker'. I read a news article on this incident and just makes you shake your head in disbelief. George cross was awarded for one of them! That's the highest medal for gallantry. I'm quite looking forward to watching it.
  2. I didn't do that experiment mate. but i would assume I would have had the same results....I think the MK4 is underpowered, whatever type. Today I only really use the MK6 unless i specifically have to use a smaller trap. It's only my opinion though.... I don't disagree with you matey. Just curious. I like the mk4 for rats but as a general purpose tunnel trap id certainly favour the mk6. In my limited experience anyway.

And the iron that formed the earth is a remnant of a supernova... so everything we know is just star dust left over from the aftermath of the greatest cosmic fireworks show imaginable. Science out the window for a moment... that inspires me spiritually more than any deity could.

    God

Well if it's a fooking paradox it ain't science! LOL All you've done there is show that 'kind' has no scientific basis!
  5. Born Hunter

    God

Clearly nobody has ever told you that when defining something it's common sense not to use the word in the definition. It creates a paradox.
  6. Born Hunter

    God

But you haven't given even a layman's DEFINITION. Never mind a scientific one. Gnasher was very obliging to give me one.

DEFINE KIND........ Rabbit on about whatever you want but it's utterly meaningless if you cannot define the words you are using!
  8. Born Hunter

    God

And fraz, you're right that there are a number of definitions for what a species is, but they're all broadly similar and at the very least actual definitions.
  9. Born Hunter

    God

Anything above the species level... okay that's a definition. So a wolf like species evolving into a fox like species would, by your definition, be an example of a creationists 'macro evolution'? It is after all a change in genus, which is above the species level. It's also something I'm led to believe that creationists accept as possible through evolution! Now there is a conundrum...

    God

HA! Again, more examples and no definitions! Avoiding any hint of science! You can't breed a wolf with a fox, but they're allegedly of the same 'kind'. You can't breed a wolf with a tiger, but they're allegedly of different 'kind'. So explain to me, what is this 'kind'? Define it with science/logic, not isolated examples. I can't answer your question because you do not understand what you mean by this creationist 'science' of 'kind'!
  11. Born Hunter

    God

So you accept that creationist 'science' can't be explained with very clear definitions like proper science? And you call the leading theory of biology "unscientific"! If you are unable to break down your theory into simple scientific logical definitions, then it is not a theory but gibberish.
  12. Darcy, did you perform the same experiment with the Solway? Or are you just taking the fairly logical assumption that a more powerful trap will reduce what you found? I'd certainly agree with you re mk4s and squirrels. Also, I don't believe it is written in law to check spring traps every 24hrs, unless trapping rabbits.... ???
  13. Born Hunter

    God

Foxes make foxes and wolves make wolves but they're both allegedly of the same 'kind' according to your sketchy bible science! I'm still not getting a definition of kind, just more examples.... Is it any surprise that evolutionary biologists do not recognise the creationist science of 'macro/micro evolution'? Tell me biologically what is the defining difference? Bearing in mind foxes make foxes and wolves make wolves, what biologically is different between a wolf evolving into a fox or whatever or a cat (which in the absence of a scientific definition I am having to assume you consider
  14. Born Hunter

    God

Of course it is fella.... because controlling the masses with religious bullshit was such a failure. Change of kind eh... another creationist bastardisation. Tell me, what's the difference between species and 'kind'? I don't want an example, I want a logical definition so I can give you a logical scientific answer.
  15. Born Hunter

    God

Fraz, what is macro evolution? Define it scientifically for me please? I would ask an EVOLUTIONARY biologist but I doubt they would have the foggiest either.
  16. Born Hunter

    God

Am I saying the leading theory of BIOLOGY is scientific........................ just listen to yourself.

    God

Second law, third law, there are four of the fuckers and thermodynamics is mind numbingly boring. Even more so when it's being twisted to bullshit. I never asked you any questions. I wouldn't do. I've got all of the 'science' I can stomach from you.
  18. Born Hunter

    God

In fairness Fraz, you claim that Edwin Hubble stole his scientific work from the Bible and that the third law of thermodynamics says that everything is falling apart.... You have no place discussing scientific theories. Much as it pains me to admit, biologists are no different to physicists or any other scientific professional. They (the scientific community) dedicate their lives to knowledge advancements and have provided the world with all the technology we have, calling the leading theory of biology 'unscientific' just highlights how out of touch with real science that person is.
  19. Strange, I've never had a dud or squib hmr round but plenty duds with the 22s.... and fact is I rarely check the dud, just rack another before the rabbit bolts! It's just relatively so common with the 22 that I know it's a dud and safe to just chamber another quick.

Coincidence! I read this today and it's bloody good advice; http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/thinking-man/11240797/Is-your-CV-full-of-awful-cliches.html ATB Edited; it reads as though it's aimed more at graduates than tradesmen, don't let that intimidate you. The same principles apply to any CV.

Damn good post that chief.....and being as how you know im a thick f****r its good of you to talk in a language i understand so much appreciated Only bit i didnt quite grasp or if i did i couldnt really get my nut round it....you say " At its most simple its the belief in something in the absence of clear scientific evidence ". So with much of our beginnings having no clear scientific evidence, would you accept that you too have a " faith " in science because it feels right as you put it ?.....as in faith that because science proved a,b,c,d,e correct it will more than likely prove f c

Why is it strange Seeker? Strange that they would put more trust in a natural explanation than a supernatural one? Historically have there not been people, like you, saying the same about every other natural event that was not understood? Natural events which today we wouldn't even dream of explaining with the supernatural. The ancient Egyptians believed that Ra was the Sun who moved across the sky, that seemed perfectly reasonable to them... god forbid someone offer a more rational and natural explanation like the concept of the solar system. The Universe exists! We live in it... I do

Seeker, I can't watch the vid on this PC but I'm guessing it's essentially the anthropic principle? How the physical universe is finely tuned to allow life to exist? From the value of the Plank constant to the environmental requirements of the Earth... The environmental requirements part can pretty simply be explained by the vast size of space, statistically it seems unlikely until you comprehend the problem on a universal level... Possibly a more interesting conclusion for a theist comes from analysing the Drake equation, which with best estimates suggests there should be far more intelli
  25. CC, my only thought on it was that a hypothetical 22WSM or similar would offer something not available now... a super magnum SLR. Maybe it wouldn't offer much more than a regular 22 magnum? The thought of it certainly interests me a lot more than a 17WSM. At a rough guess you'd end up with an SLR that has a similar (probably better) trajectory to a HMR with double the energy! That just screams general purpose vermin rifle, a truck or bike gun. The cartridge itself would be nothing interesting, it's the applications under UK law. Just me playing with ideas... But I'd say it would on
