That's the thing, I'm not really a traveller, got no great compulsion to 'see the world' like a lot of folks. NZ just looks such a fantastic place to live though, as you say. A beautiful wild country, with huge national parks to hunt all sorts of stuff, culturally quite similar to Britain, drive on the left, much more freedom to do what you want and arguably the best part their population is 5% that of the UK. 5%!!!!!!! The downside is that their industry is largely based around agriculture and tourism, especially on the south island. I'm 7-8 years into a technical career in the oil indust

I was clearly very lucky, my folks didn't force me to eat anything, lol. Only stuff I didn't like was raw tomatoes, raw or cooked peppers and custard. I was put off pickle for years after my uncle showed me a news article in the paper of a rats tail being found in a jar of pickle. That affected me deeply! LOL

Cheers gents. Wolfdog, sorry about hijacking your thread mate, wasn't intentional. Tell us more about your hunting! I enjoy reading your threads. Like I said earlier, The US, or North America more generally would be a hunting dream of mine so reading what you guys do is interesting. I've enjoyed reading some of the stories from Theodore Roosevelt and his hunting life, a very full and varied life at that. A man after my own heart! ChrisJones sent me some pictures of critters he had in his back yard! Totally crazy and wild as f**k, I love it! PS, Chris if you're reading

LOL, I f***ing should I'm just a completely typical nerd with an aversion to change. I can come up with a million reasons why not, none of them really valid. You can always find reasons not to mate, I used to be the worst for that :-( Are you still in your 20s Born? 28

So strange you should say that born hunter , a regular hit on my website is New Zealand The amount of times I've looked at transferring across to the n z army, they actively recruit my trade and rank , the pay is equivalent, the weather would suit her indoors , the lifestyle appeals to me and for my children the property prices are probably a little less than the u k My wife and I have very little ties , only a mother a piece , maybe one day after another terrible day at work, I'll fill that form in .... Additionally, no snakes I keep saying I should f**k off to the south Island, I've

Gator meat too. Looks delicious! But to be honest I could get fat on bowl after bowl of crawfish!

A pal of mine hunted hogs in New Zealand, there was a thread about it on here years ago.......he loved it mate. I remember. That was years ago now, lol. Think it got made into an article? Tahr and chammy in the mountains, Bush hunting big red stags in the roar and duck hunting from blinds.... be f***ing amazing. All their deer, hogs and goats etc are classed as invasive so no bag limits I believe and they have huge wild national parks to hunt them in like the yanks do. It's just pure freedom! The culture is more like rural England too.

Just wanted to add, if I ever could afford it North America would be the first place on my mind for a foreign hunting trip with too much to mentioned here. Only other place that might come close would be New Zealand.

From what I've seen it looks f***ing awesome! The only thing I think we have on you is that a typical British deer stalker will probably shoot a lot more than a typical yank deer Hunter, just out of legal opportunity. That and we don't have to travel far, in comparison, for very different country. Being an island nation the topography changes quickly, you're never more than a couple hours drive from Hill country, the coast, woodland or arable etc.

flatten it Once they get nukes (that actually work and don't blow up on the launch pad) Japan will want them as well, they've probably got everything they need to build them straight away either that or the US will station them in South Korea and that will p*ss off the Chinese to no end. The Japanese are considered a virtual nuclear power. Basically they have the ability to build an effective nuclear weapon very quickly. They also have anti ballistic missile capable destroyers, the same system that the Americans have.

God I do hope not! The world is really starting to get interesting! LOL I want to see him launch one of his fireworks and watch it get swatted out of the sky by a yank destroyer.

Some things don't need talking about. Those that know, know. If you know what I mean. LOLDeer can be very easily killed if a job needs doing. Not everyone goes out just to fill the bed of their pickup though, some actually enjoy a bit of a challenge. No, understood mate but I will bet one thing about you.........you don't consider yourself some kind of Jedi knight just because you can manage to get within range of a shot do you LOL, no of course not. I just like hunting stuff and I tend to knock about with lads that are very 'real' in their attitude towards it. Lads that are too vocal in

LOL it can be even easier than that if you're a bit naughty I'm told.... I'm with you on the high and mighty bollocks but then I chuck that same attitude at anyone that want to pretend they're some sort of super predator. In all probability I wouldn't own guns if I didn't want to kill stuff. Try stalking fallow in dense hazel coppice/wood mate, that's a bit more testing.

It's alright gents, I believe the terrorists were actually on board with this one. Probably 'moderate' a few of them, as opposed to radicalise! Trumps version of unconventional warfare! LOL

I can't bring myself to discuss evolution with someone that repeatedly states that evolution is "everything getting better". LOL
-
Basically it's an evolution theory as to why speciation takes place in two populations that are no longer separated geographically. Essentially it states that a factor in sexual selection is individuals tend to choose partners that have the least number of mutations from themselves. An inherited racial bias.
-
Was racial mixing in family groups historically common enough to force babies to evolve this instinct then? I mean did African families make a habit of holidaying with their European pen pals 50'000 years ago? LOL Has anybody Googled koinophilia yet.....

they have to launch that moab from a transport plane on a parachute ,I would have thought it would be a very easy target for the north Koreans I doubt they would need MOAB in a NK strike. Such a thing would probably be more akin to the early days of the Gulf war with precision strikes on NKs military hardware, comms, command, missile silos etc. Basically a f**k ton of cruise missiles and guided bombs. What happens after that depends on the political aims. Either leave em totally crippled under strict warning to behave or land 200'000 marines on the peninsula and end the regime properly. Possib

I feel it important to point out that racial bias is not racism. Racism is the belief of racial superiority, period. It's been bastardised these days to mean basically anything. Koinophilia!

f***ing howling at that mate! PMSL!

It's not just money though either. The middle east is strategic in foreign policy! Historically it's been where the oil and gas flows from and being able to influence/control that is a massive weapon in war and in peace. I think 'stealing their oil' and 'it's good for the share price' is an over simplification.

Yeah but I'm not comparing individual cases, I'm comparing the effects of different threats to society. In terms of total death toll, terrorism is quite low, historically and compared to other stuff, like death in police custody, violent crime etc. Yes, 9/11, 7/7 etc are horrific single acts, far outweighing individual acts of more regular violent crime or whatever but viewed more generally the view is different. And even when we do compare the effects of single acts that result in equal death toll, we react far more greatly to terrorism than more regular crimes. Look, I was just agree

Rightly in my view, it's murder on the streets nothing more. The other view, that terrorists are freedom fighters, is not a view I subscribe to. To mention the elephant in the room, some of what is notionally "anti-terrorism" or "anti-Islam" is simply the underlying aversion to "pakis and nig-nog" as someone put it dressed up as pseudo-concern for their fellow man. This tends to particularly be the case in the example of alt-right types on the internet. But that's the thing, it's seen as worse than murder on the streets, far worse. When we read about some poor f****r gettin
