There’s shite is Ukraine with more miles on the clock. Give us five minutes!

Just to be clear, these pics are what has been dug out of a boggy hole. All that was visible prior to being dug out was a single ‘wheel’. We haven’t been able to find any parts of the tracks or the gun. I assume they were removed prior to abandonment.

Not really much more we know about it tbh mate. We’ve been working in these woods heavily all year, thinning, laying and clear felling to improve it ecologically and for shooting. My mate who’s coordinating this operation has lived round here all his life and used to knock about with the old keeper as a kid. He knew about this tank and when this wood fell into the ownership of the shoot and he had free reign to improve the wood the hunt for the legendary tank was on. After I saw the excavated wreckage and had ten mins on google I identified it as a ww2 Covenanter. A fatally flawed design by al

Yep, it was found upside down with the ‘wheels’ sticking out. Can’t figure out where the rest of it is. Local legend has it being in these woods since the 50s, so probably since the war. We want to clean the gun mounting up for display. It’s amazing really, I was scooping the clay out of it to get a better understanding of it and the metal work inside feels like it was machined yesterday! Sharp and clean still, after 70 years in the mud.

Found this, well, it wasn’t really lost as it’s sort of local knowledge, but we excavated it… and when I see we I mean my mate. A World War Two battle tank. I believe a Covenanter. Anyway, thought some on here might think it’s as cool as I do…

He was last seen enter the M25…

I hear you can even set alarms to remind you too. Amazing!

It’s a bit like using dyslexia as an excuse for spelling mistakes. There is technology available these days to help people that suffer with these conditions have a more equal opportunity. Within reason it’s not much of an excuse. The truth is if she was either exceptionally skilled or hard working an employer would likely look past her ‘disability’. Covid changed the world for the better in this respect imo.

She is delusional however a work culture that values productivity over hours worked is sensible. But they’re not independent, core hours/days are essential in order for an organisation to maximise productivity. Productivity should always be the target metric though.

@mackem Stockholm for one night working. Not really get five minutes but it beats the office every now and then.
-
Yes Only 3 hr delay but I’ve been here since f***ing 4:20.
-
If you say so.

They’re digital twins. They’re not real, just virtual representations of what was happening. Think about it, to have a images of the craft landing would require the a second craft armed with a camera to have already landed. Sort of pointless! But in line with the modern world ‘take a selfie of everything’ mentality.

Who’s the mugs? I mean, aid is just leverage, intended to benefit us and our interests, as defined by the political class. But still, the Indians would put metal on the moon with or without it. f**k them personally, the Raj really put a chip on their shoulder regarding the UK.

That came across very shity when it wasn’t meant to be. I mean your view is the moral one. You’ve earnt it through a lifetime of broadening your views and experiences. I just mean to say that really, when it comes to it, no one really gives a toss for these people. It’s just a convenient stick to beat the Indian government with.

Let’s be honest, very few people give a shit. Many in the west will play that card over this event on our smart devices that were partly made with a supply chain dependent on slave labour in another shit hole. I know you, having visited these places, will perhaps take a different and more educated/empathetic view. But that is the facts of it as far as I can see. India are putting resources into a field that will give them a competitive advantage in what is becoming a significant future market sector and war fighting domain.

Space tech will add more to their gdp than a well fed population low skilled labour force. Not a popular view.
-
I can’t say I’ve looked heavily into it but I find it funny that folks still think governments are falsifying moon landings. Honestly what’s to be gained? Hardly anyone gives a shit. A moon colony is a big deal, sticking a drone on it will be chip paper in a week.

Incidentally I’m after one of these in 12g if anyone knows for one?
-
No, the year has moved on and I’m not using it as much. Until spring ‘24 when I expect I’ll have the same problem.

Who remembers the lad on here who setup shop on a bit of local scrub land. Had a veg plot and an air rifle for meat. Eventually got evicted after the owner finally turned up with the police but not without a fight. Hard to figure out whether to admire his attitude or section him!
-
I renewed mine about a month ago the regular way with warnings of ten week lead times. Had it in about ten days!

It’s probably going to be the future of cheap animal protein. Until the science gets the quality up to that of decent real meat.

We’re in perissa. The hotel is lovely, food is decent and priced sensibly. The beaches are overrated. Walked up the mountain this morning to see the ruins of ancient Thera. Mega! I need to see more stuff like this.
