Looks well. A lemon/red coat always adds to that. Does the tail not worry you a bit?
-
No it is not!

Kennel is a godsend imo. I’d go bonkers if I kept my dogs in. No hassle at all kennelled.

Apparently the stuff for ticks. Never used insecticides/bug spray before but it's beyond a joke when ya pulling the little c**ts off of ya cock! Treatment for clothing that kills the b*****ds before they even get near my pecker. http://nymag.com/strategist/article/effective-tick-repellents.html

Got a bottle of permethrin being delivered today. f**k the little bitey c**ts, no more BH blood for them!

A long dog tends to just sleep most the time between blasts out on walks. A cocker around the house will be your shadow, it’s frankly annoying. But if you have a strict home life with it then an hour exercise a day is fine imo. Just because they can work all day doesn’t mean they need it.

Earlier on in this thread I posted a pic of a jagd whippet that a yank member on here had. IIRC he got rid because it would NOT speak. Lol Real smart looking animal imo. Reckoned it was fast too.

f***ing teasing me now. They would do fine.

Smart eh, I like em! I take on board what Stiffy et al say about them being sub par to a bull cross, which is a prevalent type so why try to find something rare. But only as a point and kill type. And even then I feel more uncomfortable with bull over terrier as the base simply because I don't like bulls. Out of all working breeds I find a working terrier the most likeable, temperament wise. I just don't trust bully things. I strongly suspect what attracts me to this breeding is not what most people want. The terrier base appeals to me because I like a smaller dog, I like an earthdogs tem

Allegedly a Russell Grey and a Bull Grey
-
Not seen this post until now. Fair comment. This cross is still holding favour in the back of my head. Likely never happen, just a dream. I got a terrier pup a few months after posting this so don't want anything else for a fair while now anyway. One thing I would say though is that I wouldn't intend for it to match a bull cross. If I wanted a big strong dog, I have the offer on a pup from a very good mates bitch. Anyway I pulled this thread back up to add this Aussie Russell Greyhound.

Getting a bit 'exciting' in the gulf. https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-mideast-iran/irans-revolutionary-guards-deny-trying-to-stop-british-tanker-in-gulf-fars-news-idUKKCN1U60GX

The one concern I would have with spaniel in a lurcher would be how much time it would spend with it's nose 2mm off the ground and it's quarry mere yards in front of it making it's escape. If the dog learnt to use it's eyes as much as it's nose it could well be lethal and very biddable. I doubt I'd ever kennel a lab over a spaniel but I'd probably prefer a lab-lurcher over a spaniel-lurcher (based on no experience of either, lol). But if I was going for something a bit different, like these gundog-lurchers, I reckon I'd most like to have a pup from the union of a good strong pat ove

When are you chasing lions mate? I assume not until winter?
-
The footage of that untouchable tahr at 42:25, that's what it's all about! To a non hunter it's just a hairy smelly goat that plods along the hills, doesn't make any sense why someone would want to 'hunt' them. But I understand now that they're kings on those mountains! Monarchs of such a beautiful wilderness. I find Greentree really evokes the palaeolithic adventurer within. He fucks up and he pushes his luck but he's a man that doesn't let 'not being an expert' stop him from the base fulfilment he craves. I really admire that.
-
So Adam Greentree has just been rescue airlifted out of the Southern Alps on a solo bowhunt which turned bad. He has a video log of the trip, but it doesn't cover the shit part. Obviously he is more into the depths of winter, I was more autumn, and he didn't have a 4x4 to get in like we did but for anyone interested his video shows the crack. Doing exactly what he is here is something I want to do in the near future. I'm confident enough now.

It don't get much better than this..

Idyllic! -
I'd love to see how that breeding goes. I knew of a farm dog that was a lab whippet years ago. Not worked properly but looked smart.
-
Different, aye. Very houndy. Personally I think I'd be looking to HPRs of the German or Hungarian flavour if I was so inclined.

I look forward to reading a short piece in the news about the SBS taking it back. I bet they're on a frigate in the gulf already.

Royal Marines boarded and seized an oil tanker, Grace 1, near Gibraltar that was bound for Syria yesterday, enforcing the EU embargo against Syria. https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-mideast-crisis-syria-gibraltar/oil-supertanker-bound-for-syria-detained-in-gibraltar-idUKKCN1TZ0GL?il=0 Turns out the ship, which was flying the Panama flag, is registered to a company in Singapore and who's paper work states the cargo came from Iraq, was actually carrying Iranian cargo......... and now they aren't happy about it. One of their Revolutionary Guard commanders has threatened to s

Looks like a precision piece of kit. Sort of thing I might consider if I was a hill keeper or routinely taking >300yrd shots. But I'm not so wood/poly sporter/TH for me tar. Looks like a tarted up Howa and a Howa ain't a bad base to use for that, imo.
