  1. This is the lion relocation to Mozambique I mentioned. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/2019/05/mozambique-spirit-lion-relocation/ Hunting conservation! Largest lion reintroduction ever, not funded by plastic conservationists on social media or even photo safari tourism!
  2. I also read that they are training one bitch hound, Ruby, to find the orphaned rhino calves after a mother has been killed, so they can save it and rehabilitate it for release as an adult. It's really good stuff, proper conservation.
  3. I remember reading about one of the early live ops with these hounds and they opted for softer hounds because they weren’t sure if those they were hunting were women or youngsters and consequently turned out to be adult men who killed a few hounds. I think the aggression is absolutely essential. Also pretty sure poachers have shite weapons so it mitigates a little how deadly to the hounds they might be.
  4. Ivan is quite an inspiration for me. His profile is really worth checking out. He’s also involved with a pretty big lion relocation programme, which I think is one of the largest in history.
  5. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/2019/09/texan-hounds-fight-rhino-poaching/ I've been following this project via Ivan Carter's posts since it's inception.
  6. It very common these days for folks to get a family pet cocker and do pretty much just what you want with it. That drive and hunt style will come into it's own for sweeping an area for a bird that has not been marked well. They're quite happy to sit in a hide with you. Of course a lab was made for this sort of stuff but think the compact size of a cocker has an awful lot of benefits and not many drawbacks.
  7. Agree about the stuffed dog. I’d have a human skull though
  8. A cocker will fit you just fine mate. Particularly the family aspect.
  9. I get down there as often as possible. It's my spiritual home!
  10. Dorset are laidback as f**k! Lol. I know for a fact that Dorset are happy to allow 9mm semi auto pistols for HD. Its a different game up here mate.
  11. By all means ask. I'll put money on the answer being no. I'm speaking from direct and indirect experience with Nott's.
  12. No chance. First renewal, unless he can submit enough evidence to justify it before that.
  13. It's nott's so they'll probably have no issues with a hmr for fox and all other vermin. They didn't for mine on first application. They like bolts and mods to be stored separate to rifle (in ammo safe) and the keys to be hidden in separate places. They also like you to demonstrate your experience so be prepared to talk about what you do and your knowledge on general vermin control/shooting. It's really nothing major mate.
  14. I was in the Natural History Museum again yesterday and they reckon there were straight tusked elephants in Britain a few thousand years ago. Lets have a heap of those for starters!
  15. Got to be honest, I don’t think it looks bad. If I force myself to embrace progress lol. The biggest problem I have is that they’ve put way too much tech in it. The tech warrants the ridiculous price tag and no one is taking such an expensive motor to the places where that tech can shine! The vehicle is frankly a paradox! It should have started at 25k, not 45k. It sort of has the essence of the Disco, a comfy utility vehicle, not the Defender, a bare bones workhorse.
  16. Just a thought but I wonder how much it would cost to get it fluted? I don't find stocks make a huge difference, but barrel length and OD do. Edit to add: £125 +VAT
  17. A piece on the UKDJ about the consequences of the current withdrawal agreement to our military... https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/boris-johnson-must-scrap-withdrawal-agreement-for-the-sake-of-uk-defence/
  18. They lap up the premium/luxury SUV shit like RRs and Discos. This new Defender is targeted straight at that market. The double cab truck has firmly claimed the Defenders throne in the country and business realms. They're not even trying to take it back.
  19. Get a brand new Deranged Ford Fanger for that money. Meanest looking truck going.
  20. Pretty sure it's going to cost a f***ing fortune and all.
  21. Yeah, I'm on the tree's side! Give it a cuddle it for me.
  22. No you crack on mate, you're doing more right than I am. Just I'd be thinking in the back of my mind about strategy if the big boys come out with something similar off of your innovation. I suppose what I was thinking was directly approach the car giants to sell the property rights or licenses to the highest bidder (perhaps even R&D collaboration) and avoid having to fight them in the future over infringements. In fact if you collaborated you would have a big hitting legal team on your side, at least in the car manufacturing markets. I really don't know enough. Just one of my thought
