  2. why he selling it for? how tts is it?
  3. if i were you i would get a striker or blitz variable depending on your needs, with a lithium battery if you can aford it.
  4. No what i'm saying is anybody who gets a dog should find out basic care before getting a dog...Oh and why did you get a dog and a bitch and kennel them together ? or did you not think of any problems that might arise thats a fair point like
  5. 21 rabbits and two hares with my beddy whipet collie grey (on lamp). it only her first season at 19 n half month so hopefully better things to come. theres a lot of quarry where i go though. i would prefer to catch 5 rabbits if they were good runs which made the dog work, fit rabbits that have been lamped a lot and know the craic.
  6. sorry to hear that mate, hope i never have to experience, my bitch is coming up 20 month and i would be devostated. it better she died at 20 month working than living until 10 getting fed chocolate and sitting in house all day getting fat like most pet dogs.
  7. similar to my beddy whip x collie grey
  8. not at my computer but if you click this link shes on there. 5/8 3/8 grey collie http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141369&st=30
  9. does he nice one mate. she does sometimes but other times she just chews it. when she does retrieve it isnt a full on bringing it back to me its more like she picking it up, running towards me with it then dropping it. ai wey ai like people say theres ages for her to get it right
  10. when my bitch runs she watches for obsticals att he same time as watching the quarry, i get pissed off some times as this causes her to miss some which look like she should have. but after reading this i am pleased she runs like this as she has never been injured yet at 20 month old and out everday. i think 23 rabbits and two hares is her biggest bag to date (on lamp) so still happy with her.
  11. been trying to teach pup to retrieve but when i throw the dumy she jus stops in same place and chews it, any ideas??
  12. took my bitch fishing once she was stood on the bank side, a salmon jumped and she was straight in after it, was swimming for 10 minutes looking for it lol. she also chased a fox into a a flooded river one night when out lamping, she was fighting with it in the water while getting swept down by the current, luckily for the fox it hit a different current and got swept over to the other side and was away before the dog got over. if you lamp accross the river now you see it every night, stuck over the other side. it is a big dog fox.
  13. only thing is with a dog of that size and build is choosing the feilds to run hem¬! do you agree dai? what you mean mate?
  14. yeah its annoying when peple go off topic and start writing bollocks.
  15. i use tescos. 6 pound a month, never made a claim yet but a few people said they are good. just insured as a mongral and not working lurcher but who can tell the difference.
  16. my beddy whippet x collie grey has mint feet. she only 19 and half month but she never been lame yet and i have her out every day running all types of ground including old quarrys. my mate has a saluki grey collie of some sort and every time he takes it out it gets injured. one day we were running in the quarry and both dogs were chasing rabbits all over. when the dogs came back all four of my mates dogs feet were bleeding and there wasnt a mark on my dogs. she isnt the fastest of dogs but fast enough but is very clever, too clever sometimes as she knows how to open every door in the house and
  17. ive got two, a 19 and half month beddy whippet x collie grey and a 12 week old 5/8 3/8 grey collie, but thrown racey, her dam is a first cross collie grey but more like a 3 quater and her sire is a 3 quater . both bitches, stay in house together. the older dog is a good mooching, bushing and lamping dog and the little one will be used for the big game that she flushes into big open fields as she should have more speed, and lamping. pics- B W x C G, PUP, and PUPS MOTHER.
  18. i think blitz as it has the longest beam. people would say striker as its smaller but blitz isnt that big, its only a bit bigger makes no difference
  19. think a labrador would suit your neededs better would it not lol.
  20. before the big freeze i used my beddy whippet x collie grey for lamping mainly. as soon as i turned the lamp off she would come back to my side. when the snow came i used her for mooching/bushing daytime. which she proved to be quite good at. when the snow had gone i was having problems with my lamp so i continued to use her for mooching. when i got a new lamp and took her out after every slip she had to be told 2 or 3 times to come back. i do think that she was confused by this. plus when i have been going out localy on a night on my own theres not much about i let her run free and hunt up th
  21. im not really botherd if it stays or goes, its not what you hunt that seems to be the problem where i live its just the permision. but ive been caught poaching by police a good few times and allways got away with it.
  22. i would have thought that big open ground would be easier to catch things than fenced,i know my dog catches better if theres plenty of space
  23. cheers for the replys. think ill rest her now and concentrate on training my pup.
  24. exactly where i was talking about mate. the point i was tryingto make. imagine them rabbits at the begining of season my dog was 14 month at the time she was nailing 15/20 in 20 mins/ half hour. some rabbits are a hell of a lot harder than others.
  25. had my bitchout ferriting today, we netted the holes as shes in heat. first rabbit slipped the net,my dog ran it, caught it, but made hard work of it. after that she just couldnt find the pace to get an early strike and would even say she jacked on a few. still has the gamness just bot the abilty, never realised being in season would impair her so much.
