  1. F, youve dropped some tomatoe sauce on him off your sandwich, look there, its dribbling down his side, hope it didnt stop him swimming off
  2. Still open but you must be able to show good cause. Think you would be hard pressed to justify prebaiting.
  3. Feed the flooded pasture with barley mate, if its grassland there will probably be wigeon. Feed it for a couple of weeks and then have a look at dusk and see what you have coming in. You should be able to see if its worth doing by how quickly the feed is being taken.
  4. What crop are you going to be shooting over ?
  5. Yes Clint it has lots of teef
  6. Yes CC I use them and think they give a pretty good action. I also take them off the magnet and use them as a floater, in a strong wind they flap away like a good un as a static floater. But......yes thay are flimsy and need looking after

Morning flight on the shore, teal buzzed about but were too quick in the half light, a drake mallard came in and fell to my shot, it crashed through the ice and the dog picked it. Was cold last night, the shore was frozen. Tramped the bushes in the afternoon, must have lifted 20 woodcock.......shot 1 and a cock pheasant. Evening back down on the ponds at the back of the shore, took a mallard and a cock teal, other teal buzzed in and were down on the water in a jiffy. A pair of mute swans tried to chase a whooper swan off the water. The dog flushed a water Rail today, made my barrels

Been shooting the western isles for the last couple of days, yesterday 2 woodcocck, 2 teal and 3 mallard. Today out and about and 3 woodcock, 2 cock pheasnat and then down to the ponds at the back of the shore. It was cold tonight, a barn owl got me twitching as it quartered within 10 feet of me, a lapwing shot in and mewed before teal came. I downed one, others came too quickly and a pair of mallard came and went unscathed. Tomorrow morning flight.
  12. Direct line did it for me, my cocker recently severed all ligaments in her back hock. Metal plate, numerous trips to specialist vet and bill of £3000 taken care of for the excess of £
  13. My cocker tends to eliminate the moorhen problem, she hates them with a vengance
  14. Thanks for that, thought as much, i have the same trouble with moorhens on my flightpond, but not in the same numbers
  15. Once picked one up dead in the centre of Liverpool of all places
  16. What do you do with 390 dead Coot and why do you shoot them ? Not having a go just interested as to the reason
  17. There appears to be no let up, i have been feeding a pond that is open, there is moving water nearby that held teal, wigeon, mallard and half a dozen gadwall today. I stood by the open part tonight and toasted my last flight this year with a capful of brandy into the water and thanked the duckgods, I took two cock teal and then fed the margins and called it a day. Till next year
  18. Yep male Reed Bunting , looks nothing like a Hedge Sparrow
  19. Goosander are pretty birds but do take a lot of trout and salmon par, i know of one that was cut open and had 18 salmon parr in it They occasionally fly with mallard which is a real test when out shooting duck
