  1. Surely too early for them to be on the rape ? Its been a good season for nuts and berries etc, wouldnt have thought the pigeon would have been on the rape till after xmas. Did any have rape leaves in their crops ? regards

  3. Have a look on Pigeonwatch forum and do a search. My own view is that if you dont have any land then it's not bad value. you pays your money and takes your choice. Some days you will drop lucky, other days will be zilch. Regards
  4. Its an aga mate so the slow oven is a constant temperature I would imagine you could do it in a conventional oven, the lowest temp i would imagine. They really are good, the flavour intensifies to a lovely sweetness
  5. I chop them in half, sprinkle herbs and olive oil and bung on a tray in the aga for 4 hours, slow oven.........hey presto sun dried tomatoes

  11. Thats the job Mick Thats what i was thinking of, i have taken a few pheasant spring type feeders down to the pond and wanted to know it could be done. Have tried the auto feeder with poor result, not an expensive one and water got into the electrics and knacked the job. Laziness on my part really, means i will only potter down a couple of times a week to scatter a bit of feed and see all is well
  12. Can anyone tell me if WILD duck will use feeders ie pheasant type feeders situated in pond margins. Would be interested to hear from anyone who HAS used them.

  23. BB, I always get some good shooting off stubbles. The secret is doing a bit of a reccy in the evening. Its suprising the amount of birds that will turn up if they are interested. Last season had a pack of 30 - 40 mallard wheeling round a barley stubble, got laid down with some straw covering us, a few deeks and calls and we had a good few
