  13. Do you think its possible a dog which is capable of killing and winning matchs on the fens can also make a lamping dog that can kill big bags of hares on the lamp regular ? i honestly dont know. i havent herd of any one doing it. but of course that dont mean it hasnt been done. i think like s vicers said earlier there are two types of staminar . the sort a lamping dog has where its back and forward all night. and the daytime specialist. mind you there are some that can do a bit of both . my own bitch has cought winter hares on the flat land and took good hauls of buns on the la
  14. both of mine have cought all manner of birds. the kelpie cross comes out with me to retrive shot pheasants at night. and about 2 weeks ago they both tried to retrive a heron that was standing in the middle of a field. but they both bottled it when it pecked out at them
  15. yes they do thank you the kelpi cross has never been on the fens though.
  16. For certain crosses which are more suited to run on the fens to kill. But I stress again I dont think any hare is easy! Tell me, how do your dogs do on the fens? to be honest not that brilliantly and i only have 1 saluki x the other dog is the kelpie cross in the pic on the other thread. well theres diffinatly somthing we agree on . i also dont think any hare is an easy kill
  17. im also bald so i have it twice as bad. i already answerd your question about the fens. yes i do run on the fens from time to time. i will stress though i dont run there as much as some of the blokes on here. now joe answer my question . Easier than what?
  18. i bet those poles you are using are the ones from brinded that are very thin. get the one from magnum or bridport alot thiker , and you just push down on the top as it has a rubber top. that dont hurt your hand.
  19. Well thats the first sensible thing you have said on this thread! you know joe , i have just re red evrything on this thread. and all i have done is dissagreed with one thing you have said that post i dissareed with is on page 4 post 48 . its the one where you imply that a hare on the fen must be easy to catch as the land is so large. i have no axe to grind as regards colie crosses or minshaw dogs in fact quite the reverse. and have on a number of ocasions had arguments with people who pulled ASD down about taking large bags of hares on the lamp. one joker who thought tak
