as the others have said lab,,,,, its a very good hare, thats plain to see,,,, yet the dog was better,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and the dog in the vid is NOT a good dog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,its a fecking GREAT DOG So is running hares on the fens solely down to stamina levels then............? no mate the dog needs more than just staminar,,, but of course staminar is needed..............the thing is alot of people crab these dogs saying there slow,,, that just aint the case.. I don't think you can mate !!! what you "see" doe'snt give you the "full picture" for instance the ground condition's you heard marcus say it was "heavy" going when the ground's like that on the fen then even to walk a couple of hundred yards hurt's your legs fit or not !! then there's the winds freezing cold easterly wind's blowing straight across the "flat land's" chilling you and your dog to the bone !!! the "camera" does'nt give you the full picture mate !!!! only them that have been and done it really know !!!! my comment on the scot's flag was because i know 90% of scot's lad's would'nt

amen to that mate,,, i love both also done alot of daywalking this last month or so,, also ferreting and bushing ,,, i get alot of fun and enjoyment out of all these methods of hunting. as for stone walled fields i love them

i have been told by a mate,, that the dna test can tell the exact persentages of the difrent breeds within that dog,, so in theroy if you have a bitsa type lurcher it can tell all the difrent breeds. my mate,,, has a mate with a plummer lurcher,,, he had this test done,,, and it came back that there was australian collie in there,,,, but lets be honest,, provided your lurcher does what you want, does it matter,,,, and i bet most pedigree dogs have other bits in there if they checked

theres some cracking half crosses around,, that do well at the rabbit game,,, but if you want an all rounder i think like some of the others,, best of with a bitsa type with a bit of collie,,, not 50%.

that word jacker such a horrid descrition for a dog,,, but if we must use it,,,, to me its a dog that wont run any game,,, just stands and watches it run off. but diffrent types of crosses have difrent amounts of staminar, pure and simmple. some are speed merchants and burn up quik,,, i should no i got 2 here but give em a rest and theyl run again,, ok they wont suit evryone, but they still have somthing to offer... just not if your running hares on big land,, where you need alot more. lets be honest if this pup did run 5 mins, and it was a genuin 5 mins, ile have the f****r

many a time in the 80s 3 young uns to feed -- poached the odd pheasant aswell - kept the local chinese takeaway supplied to get a few quid in ,,, even poached the odd allotment .. had a good customer base down the pub for rabbits pheasant and mushrooms .... I some mushrooms are worth more than others :wacko: , but feck they taste fowl :sick:

yes i have also lived off poaching, but like poacher said got better money for the birds, the ,s were i time for being made redundant, evrytime i got a job the place went bust a year later what is/was intresting, is the other unconvenal methods you use to catch game , like driving birds in to a longnet,, or we had a place where we bent over some rabbit netting and got birds entrapped we would gat a dozen or so, in just a few mins. and like Chalkie,,, them rimmys shure are the tool, even back then you could get one for £ ton. no questions
