I don't think it's hard for a big dog to catch a rabbit,,,in fact quite the opposite ,,,,,, I think your dogs and other dogs that won't run rabbits,,but will deer,,,is simply because they prefer them,,,, I honestly think,,,,the dog thinks it's below them,,,and they get a real liking for the deer,,,,,as you say,,,it might be an old inherited thing from thousands of years ago in there minds,,,wolfs natural prey..... But I don't agree because rabbits are to hard for them
  2. Cheers Phil ,,,ye I'm looking forward to it,,,only another week or two for us with the ferrets,,,,so it's a nice early pup to have with me all spring and summer,,,in fact by September it will be 9 month,,, so will start ferreting when we do..

It happened befor the end of 9,,11,,, that other plane that crashed in the countryside that day,,, the relatives were phoning folk on the plane,,, and telling them to get stuck in,,,,cos there was only one outcome.... I think we have all thought about that sinario,,,, any bloke with a a family is deffo going to get stuck in,,,,

I had similar but a rabbit, jumped in the river whilst lamping,,, I followed down stream,,, and waited for it on the river bank,,with dog on the slip,,, it was in the water a good while,,, and literally dragged its self up the bank,,,,but I couldn't do it,,, I let it just hop off past me and the dog,,,.. Great pics iworkwhippets,,,
  6. the cost of fekin lecky being one negative!! them heat lamps use there bit of juice! I have found the lower wattage ceramic bulbs cost next to nothing to run,,,,but of course they give off less heat,,,, so there's a compromise as to weather it's effective enough,,,,but used in a box,, is perfect
  7. $35 a kilo ,,,,,I'm assuming there's not much market in selling them,,, as surly everybody would be out with the lamp and rimmy A few hundred of them a week would be a good earner ,,,lol

  13. Yes I'm having one,,,, The dam is 3/8 collie ,,,,, the sire is a grew. The dams dam,,,was a half cross,,, out of a working farm collie,, and a greyhound with the prefix wattling street,,,,, this half cross bitch was mated to a 3/4 grey x 1/4 collie,,,, dog. Producing the dam. The dam is 25 inch,, got some real length to its back,,, something i particuly like in a dog,,,just a real nice litter

    Good mate of mine,,,back when the the web was in its infancy,,,read that nutmeg had certain qualitys,,,,rather than just being grated on rice pudding,,,if you ate a half a nutmeg,,,it was like an E,,,,,, he made a tea out of a full one and tested it on another mate,,,,lol,,,,,, ended up in casualty lol
